Looking for some input from everyone our next project we just bought. It's a real original 72 shorty. Check it out here:

Thank you for the honor, but you're work speaks louder than anything.

Might just have to make a trip out to AZ with the truck now just to get them together.

Re: A tribute to "Nate"

Thanks again for the kind words all and thank you Nate! Well another weekend of hard work. We have the front sheetmetal hung, but still need some minor adjustments. We're fighting the hood a bit to get it to sit down at the cowl correctly, but other than that everything fits pretty well. We also got the back glass in and started on the interior, but ran in to some fitment issues with the upper door panel trim...typical aftermarket parts headaches. We had hoped to have it running this weekend, but fell a little short there too after fighting the sheetmetal for a half a day... here are some pics of the progress.

Re: A tribute to "Nate"

Those panels look really straight.
Excellent work.

Are you putting white interior in this truck?

Re: A tribute to "Nate"

Thank you, lots of block sanding pays off. Yes, the interior will have a white dash pad, white seat with green inserts, white trim panels and black carpet.

Man that looks SUPER!!! Are your inner fenders painted black or matching the truck color?

Re: A tribute to "Nate"

Thanks very much! The inner fenders are semi-gloss to match the radiator support. The truck will be ok to drive in any weather, but that will be up to the new owner. As much as we hate to lose this one, we have taken a down payment. We have really fallen in love with it! When this one is done, we will move on to the 72. At some point, we will build a keeper that will look just like this! It is by far my favorite!

Re: A tribute to "Nate"

We need some help!!! Any suggestions or luck with sanding the grille?? The grille we have is in really good shape except for a couple small dents and pits. We tried sanding with 600 last night and it made it smoothe but you can still see where the pits were.

Re: A tribute to "Nate"

A couple of interior pictures...
The truck is running now, just need to get the bed done! Havn't had the time to work on it lately, but hopefully we'll get to it this week.

Re: A tribute to "Nate"

Thanks!!! The grille still has us stumped..it's in such good shape but just not nice enough to put it on this truck. Gonna try some more sanding and see what we can do.

Re: A tribute to "Nate"

is there a metal finishing company anywhere around you ? we have one here that can take your grill shells or trim , get all the dings out and repolish them ! It looks like new when they are done !
