It is a gas master. I will put up a picture when I get a chance. It shows how economical you are being while driving.

Re: Rare 1964 C30 Alaskan Camper truck

Guys like me & Lostmy65 love that kinda stuff...
You would never be able to buy that camper shell ..."Over the Counter"...or off the show-room floor....but you could sure order one...."Special"....from a few of the mfgrs.

Guys that bought those type of shells were usually driving a company or fleet truck, for special assignment out of town....for awhile.
The company bought and maintained the truck, the fella assigned to it got paid per-deum (spell-check..?) to stay in a motel or whatever....for an extended time...and spent it on a camper instead..(which was his to keep after the assignment)....
Nice ride.
I would prefer the KOA route over the Motel 6 deal all day long.

Re: Rare 1964 C30 Alaskan Camper truck

We had come across a columb mounted Tach available as an accessory in a 1965 Chevrolet Accessories Book. The housing was similar to the one in the picture above. The glass face had a Cherolet Bow Tie on it. I cannot remember the name of the member I was discussing this with, he had a picture of it and I found a picture of it on the net. If you had the standard dash and wanted a Tach without changing the entire instrument panel, the columb mounted Tach was an option.

If you want to split up the camper, let me know. I am close to you also. I'd love it for my 61 GMC

Re: Rare 1964 C30 Alaskan Camper truck

OUTSTANDING! I'd find a nice 292 and put that baby back to the way it was old skool. What a neat camper conversion, lots of storage, nice inside for two, and, FUN. This'll be a great project to do, no matter the power plant (did I mention a nice 292'd be just perfect for it?).

Looks low mileage, steering wheel has hardly any paint wear. Because it was special ordered for rv use, it has some nice options, the Z62 Custom Comfort option, power brakes and steering. Here is a period ad.
