Re: 1970 Chevy P10 Stepvan....aka "Tiny"

I just started my 1968 GMC P10. It was a ice cream truck. Had a ton of old paint on it. I am almost done putting a new ex wire harness in it. Have any of you upgraded to power brakes? Does the booster fit? Also how different is the steering gear box?
Thanks!

Looks nice, uptonogood09!
How were your floors? Mine had rot in the floor support behind the seat. Do you have any pictures of how you did your rust repair?
Thanks!

Re: 1970 Chevy P10 Stepvan....aka "Tiny"

unfortunately the pics i took got lost when i lost my old phone. the main floor was ok, however the rust went completely through both rear "quater panels" for lack of a better term, ate up the hat channel, and both of the rear wheel wells were just total rust. i had to get a cutting blade and cut it all out, then replace the inside hat channel (mill supply sells these). but i decided not to put hat channel back on the outside for the lower part of the hump. Given that it is all flat that makes it easy as far as metal is concerned, just bought 2 peices of 16 guage steel, and cut them out. However when dealing with flat stuff it is very very difficult to make it look straight with no "waves" so to speak. so its not perfect and the paint isnt the best either. I did put the two blue lines on it to kind of break up the white, and put them on both sides of where i cut out all the rust, to distract your eyes from those areas.

Very Nice! I am looking for a replacement window track for the driver side (see pic). When my P10 was getting body work it got lost. Have you run across any or where to get one?

Re: 1970 Chevy P10 Stepvan....aka "Tiny"

Here is my 1969 Chevy P10. I got it about a month ago. So far I have replaced the manuel transmission with a 350 turbo automatic. Working on converting the front drums to 5 lug disk brakes. I'm a little confused on which booster master cylinder to buy. Dosen't look like there's much room I have a short nose. Anybody have any suggestions? Also converting to powersteering, converting the rear into 5 lug. Going to add some headers. I have some 15x8's with Coker White walls ready for installation. That's it for now.

Re: 1970 Chevy P10 Stepvan....aka "Tiny"

You might try a hydro boost set up for your brakes seeing how you are going to add power steering as well. The hydro boost set up is shorter than the vacuum booster set up.

I have been looking for a '67-'72 P10 for about 8 months now and haven't had much luck. Does anyone have any ideas on where I could find one? Thanks!

Re: 1970 Chevy P10 Stepvan....aka "Tiny"

He sold that one a while ago.. I actually bought this one from him... https://www.instagram.com/p/BCuDiBbF_DO/

And he has this one still for sale all aluminum. Little pricy and still needs a little work. Because I wanted mine to be a shorty I waited about 8 months .. I probably paid a little high but there was nothing..

Go to facebook. Look for the group P10 life styles we are all there. Lots of good info...
