Re: Show your Rear Disc Brake Set Up

Does anyone know what year and model or a part number of the rotors that are used on the ebay kits? I need 5 ON 5. Thanks

Re: Show your Rear Disc Brake Set Up

Kit I used:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/230845329214...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Someone told me a 98ish chevy front rotors. Worth going to local parts store to check...have them pull a few, can always get a refund.

I probably did understand, that brackets and calipers and discs etc. from a Cadillac El Dorado could be swap in 67-87 rearends but I can see almost all of you bought the brackets from different sellers except for nann67 .
Could the brackets of Cadillac work or not?
Yes the Caddy calipers will work, but my experience with them has need painful. Most of the kits I have seen that offer an ebrake use the Caddy type caliper.

Here's the kit from a forum sponsor ProPerformance, which utilizes Willwood calibers.

Re: Show your Rear Disc Brake Set Up

Here's mine. Did this awhile ago. They are Summit brand made by SSBC for an imapala. They are 5x5. If memory serves me right, I made a new axle bracket and they fit well. Here is a link, but it looks like they are no longer available.

Re: Show your Rear Disc Brake Set Up

Im talking to auto city classic, they sell the kit on ebay. Im just trying to get a pair of drilled and slotted rotors that "match" my front rotors that I already have. I got my front rotors from POL but I dont know if the ones they offer for the rear disc kit are the same? Plus they want an arm and a leg for them!

Just FYI, if you purchase directly from Auto City Classic it is $10 bucks cheaper since they only charge $30 for shipping.

Here is the 5 lug kit: http://www.autocityclassic.com/chevy...-rearc105ltrk/

Here is the 6 lug kit: http://www.autocityclassic.com/chevy...6-lug-rearc10/

Re: Show your Rear Disc Brake Set Up

Yeah I'm going to use his brackets. I'm just trying to figure out the easiest combo. I was looking at the caprice rotors but if I read correctly I would have to machine the rotors center section. And I'd like to have something with an e brake but doesn't the old cadillac calipers you have to use the e brake every time otherwise they go out of adjustment ?

It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Show your Rear Disc Brake Set Up

I have a set- up from tom's classic off ebay on my 68, great product, easy install and comes complete. Set two is on 67 is captain fab's set-up using 95 Camaro calipers, again great set up and bolted on easily. Just purchased a set up from pirate jacks for rear of wife's 66 nova and it is straight forward and easy. Toms and pirate jack both look to be from same company mbm and are well made. i have used two masters from cpp with built in prop valve and they work great. Master on 68 uses aluminum corvette master and cpp ( mbm) prop valve and no issue.

Are any of these kits 5x4.75? That's what I need for my truck 12 bolt rear end.

Andy,
I realize this is an old thread, but did you have to order the E brake cable separate ?? I am assuming that you installed this in a LWB truck. I was looking at part number

6772RWBK-5-P12

the website states that a custom e brake cable must ordered for LWB trucks

I doubt it for 2 reasons. Chevy/GM/Ford didn't do it on their "C" rears. And if you break an axle, the disc brake setup usually holds the axle in the housing
