I've put a lot of miles on this old truck over the last few weeks. I gave it a scrub down with some CLR in places and got some of the rust and rust stains off, then went over it with some rubbing compound and then polishing compound to knock the oxidation off the paint. Turned out pretty good, still need to wash and put a little wax on it

Nice! I love it when someone takes a forgotten and abused vehicle and puts it back on the road. Post some more pictures.

I'm still driving the hell out of this old truck. The only issues I've had so far was one of the old Wintermarks on the back finally crapped out and broke a belt and I bought some used 30x9.50 all terrains and put on the back. One of my back wheel cylinders is leaking a little. I went ahead and bought both sides and threw them behind the seat lol. I also bought shocks about a month ago to put an end to the Cheech and Chong effect when I go over rough roads, but have been too busy to put them on either.

In the last week I've hauled a 10ft poplar log and a 10ft piece of metal grating, too big for my little Toyoter Hilux, but the old Chevy handles them well.

I think I've proved my point though, you can drag one of these old C-series from a brush pile, get it running and safe, and drive it without much issue. If I had fixed everything I thought would cause an issue for peace of mind, I'd still probably be working on it.
