Re: Blazer TV Time

Just finished watching. Sad that they changed a Blazer that I would love to find. But on the other hand, it is still beautiful. I loved the before and the after. My sense of really cool survivors and itch for customizing are confused. Either way, a beautiful Blazer with proud owners causing legacies to live on.

Re: Blazer TV Time

Horrible, like finding the Holy Grail and turning it into the urinal in your new MacMansion. From what they showed it appeared to be the finest one owner original Highlander that I've ever seen. Showing the original and excellent condition blue plaid/parchment interior piled up ready for Rollie to haul it off to the dumpster was a nice touch too.

Re: Blazer TV Time

When these Blazers reach age 50 and there's still some out there that hasn't been hacked on that's when I will be impressed....

Re: Blazer TV Time

Still looks good even though its a shame they messed up an original k5. No way that cost 65,000 to do on a solid rust free vehicle.

Dear god....just saw the interior......horrible. They should have stuck with orange/white highlander plaid.

Re: Blazer TV Time

Exterior was cool with the subtle music notes for a personal touch, but to take a beautiful all-original blazer and do that to the interior...not a fan.

Re: Blazer TV Time

I thought it looked OK but for $65,000 I expected a little more and they didn't show any of the build, didn't even mention the infamous rocker boxes or what they done to the motor transmission drivetrain.

Re: Blazer TV Time

Very sad they tore up that highlander blazer, atleast a 15k blazer in that conditon.I do understand that both parties have no idea on how rare that blazer was,I do believe the count would have had second thoughts on it.I did see him considering stopping restoration on a caddy that he thought was numbers matching, but wasn't.I get the point of the whole restoration and a nice tribute to his parents who were trailblazers in the songwriting industry I nthe 50's and 60's.The one positive I got out of it was a blazer on primetime tv!

Re: Blazer TV Time

Well, at least they didn't totally destroy the Blazer. Other than the cosmetics, it STILL looked like a Blazer! ha. I normally do not watch The Count, but saw the previews on this one and caught the tail end. Would have liked to own that one, but not pay for it.

Re: Blazer TV Time

65K! AND they didn't even put on the stainless trim on the windshield! What a waste, I could only imagine what I could do to mine for 1/ 2 that! But I agree TV time, I'm tired of all the early broncos getting all the credit

I would have liked to have seen the engine compartment, usually they open it up and show the client.

Re: Blazer TV Time

Just finished watching this. I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. Did they ruin an original owner / survivor blazer? YES! Did they make a cool custom blazer? Yes

The 2 things I didn't like - Not using the stainless steel windshield trim and whatever wiper blades they used that looked like you could pick up at gas station off the highway.

65K does seem about right when you consider all the labor hours, cost of paint, custom fab work, etc.

Re: Blazer TV Time

It is great press for Blazers and 67-72 trucks in general. Every time my wife saw the trailer I used it as reinforcement ammunition that the boys and I were right and ahead of the masses to do a Blazer. It made my youngest smile from ear to ear. BTW I like hugger orange with white top.

Re: Blazer TV Time

The only thing I can say bad about it is that it's not my cup of tea. Then again, I would never lower a vehicle either. However, I don't begrudge anyone to customize their vehicle however they want to, just because I wouldn't do it doesn't mean it's not still cool. What they did is no different than taking a new truck and making a tailgating machine out of it. Besides, they did exactly what the owner wanted done, for what the owner's budget was, so more power to them.

Re: Blazer TV Time

I thought it turned out pretty good..but man...an original Highlander in that kind of condition..to turn it into a pumpkin...ouch..... did it really take 5 years to rebuild???? if so.. I feel ok about mine still in paint/body prison after two years..
(Btw.. I say pumpkin with love and respect )

Re: Blazer TV Time

Hey grillzy, I found it on YouTube after the U.S. show was on.
But then it was on this week up here.
I think I searched Counts Customs, trailblazer.
