Re: Even bigger air than before

Had a bridge near me during high school that had a serious hump to it, the center was curved up and you could get excellent air at about 65 mph. We used to hit that sucker every weekend about 20 times. It was curved just right for a perfectly smooth landing every time, unfortunately CalTrans fixed it.

And while we're on the subject. Here's the Duke boys in our pickups.

I wonder how far THEY could jump a C/10?

Re: Even bigger air than before

HELL YEAH. That was awesome! When I was younger me and friends would buy old cars to dirt road rally race. Mine was a 79 Ford Fiesta 4 door 4 speed I bought for 80 bucks and all it needed was a fuel pump. It was baby crap yellow with factory brown rally strips. We cut the front fenders so I could run co-ops up front. Those were some fun fun nights. A few good wrecks

Believe it or not, that was General Lee 1 (as in, the first car ever built for the show).

The first pic is how Lee 1 was found and the second is the General today.

http://www.themusclecarplace.com/tmc...estoring-lee-1

The car was wrecked after the jump from the opening scene, and was later repainted and used in another episode as an old wrecked "Richard Petty Test Car."

It's somewhat recently come out that "Lee 2" was also found in the same junkyard, and is also undergoing a resoration as well (might be done by now).

Re: Even bigger air than before

Even on Dukes of Hazzard they had enough sense to trash Mopars and cherish Cooter's Chevy trucks

I do what I do and you do what you do. But, don't expect to show a video trashing one of these trucks here on the number one site for "lovers" of these trucks and no draw a reaction. We see threads after threads of trucks being built, restored, fixed up, kept running with care, then someone launching a decent survivor repeatedly just for jollies. To me this is senseless and foolish while totally disrespecting the very trucks we love. But, like I said, you do what you do. It's nothing I'd ever do, but if I did and posted a video on here I would be expecting to hear some flack. It's also the right of others for this to be bothersome.

This is by no means a, "decent survivor." It was a Cheapo buy for a reason.

It's not a sacred cow, it's just a truck...a lifeless chunk of metal, meant to be used how you see fit.

Try and get even more air next time

Re: Even bigger air than before

This makes me want to go buy an old beater truck (or maybe a car) just to build it to catch some air. Maybe make a prerunner? I think I'd use a GMC though, because it is easier to lift in the rear.
I don't have any problem with somebody taking their C10 and jumping it. There are plenty of them around still, and its better than letting them
rust away in a field.

I hear ya. I figured some would enjoy it and some not so much. IF it ever flys again it will be with a full prerunner type build on it. And I appreciate the honesty and concern for safety precautions from you guys.
