Re: WTB: looking for....

Heading west in a couple weeks. Will be going to Columbia, Mo. to Kansas City, Mo. to Springfield, Mo. Will then take 44 to 40. Have no stops planned between Springfield, Mo. and Albuquerque, NM.

Going home, I have no problem going the north route up to Denver and east on 70 or 80.

Re: WTB: looking for....

Hello,

I just seen that you responded. I'll get you pictures and prices before the end of the weekend. Doesn't look like you're swinging North this trip anyhow.

Re: WTB: looking for....

If interested I have two nice original hoods, one is 71-72 Chevy, the other is 69-70 Chevy. Original paint best as I can tell, straight, no rust. Both need a good wash and clean, dusty and dirty from storage. $75.00 each, I'm just about 25 miles west of Elliot949 who is in Winfield, Ks., I'm in Wellington, Ks. If interested let me know and I can get some pics posted of them next day or two. Have fun on your trip and stay safe.

Re: WTB: looking for....

Pics of the two hoods I have.

The blue (71-72) hood is NOT original paint like I thought, has been a repaint. Found that out after I washed it up a bit. It was in the bed of a parts truck I bought several years ago and since I had a good hood at the time I just put it in the storage shed. Does have a couple shallow dings on passenger side from under side going out. Easy to get to with hammer and dolly. Absolutely no rust. Hood ridge is straight and true.

The green (69-70) hood appears to be original paint, Medium Olive Green (?) not sure on that. A few scrapes thru the paint on the top side. Very small ding above the hood emblem. Emblem is there but center plastic is broken. Center ridge is also straight and true.

If you need more pics of any areas let me know. Either hood would take very minimal body/paint effort to be nice for use.

Jimmy -

Not sure you would be close enough to Tennessee, but I have a super nice driver side fender from a '70 GMC for $150. Just putting it out there.

Re: WTB: looking for....

Looks like this trip is getting better everyday! I am stopping at 3 places in Mo., headed to 2 stops in Ks. then off to Albuquerque, N.M. Anyone between Wellington, Ks. and Albuquerque, N.M.? Plan as of now is to take south route home, 40 to 44 to 55.

Let me know if you have something I need!

Re: WTB: looking for....

Jimmy, Just wanted to say I had a great couple hours with you at the diner. Thanks for the breakfast, it was my intention for the breakfast ticket to go the other way tho. NEXT time breakfast is on me! Enjoyed talking trucks and more with you. ALWAYS great to meet with board members. The unexpected visit with Clint and his dually was great. I had seen that truck in town before but did not know who's it was or that he had bought it. Need to figure out how to post the pic I took of it to the board. My smart phone and I are still getting used to each other, LOL. Thanks for the purchase of the green hood and the 5 lug rally caps. Enjoy your trip and have safe travels during your journey.
