He is definitely in the ballpark for that truck, at least for the Iowa rust belt anyway....

Re: Possible Purchase 2 Vetting Help Please

@Joesjunk: Was nice enough to speak to me at length about the truck.
Thanks Joe!!!
Then I spoke to the seller again.
Unless the price drops dramatically, I'm out.
But I thought I'd post this for others to reference.

We knew the following:
Wrong Wheels, Air Cleaner, Valve Covers, Water Neck, Heater Hoses and Radio.
"Chevy Lean"

Joe noted the following:
Not Factory Rear Bumper (Came with a step bumper, but this is not right)
Accessory trailer brake kit
Repro Dash Pad - Wrong Color
Repro Steering Wheel - Wrong Color
Repro Carpet - Wrong Color
Possible paint touch-ups (Blending at rear quarter)
2 Aux Gas Tanks

Then I spoke to the seller:
Aux gas filler hole in the bed goes nowhere.
There are 2 Aux gas tanks with fillers in the wheel wells.
The story also went from "I know it's original paint" to "it looks like original paint to me".

I said to the seller "you seem to be more of a 'car guy' than you leading me to believe".
He stammered for an answer to that.

I'm not comfortable enough to fly up at this price point so I told him I'm out.

Thanks again to Joe for taking the time to speak with me!

Stay tuned for my thread "Possible Purchase 3"
Onward!

Re: Possible Purchase 2 Vetting Help Please

Weird that the bed side filler neck doesn't go to that tank? Now it makes me wonder even more about the originally.
