Re: Rochester carb help possible bad linkage

I’ve cut one off before.
Hacksaw won’t work. It’s hardened metal.
I used a 1/8 inch thick cut off disc on my angle grinder.
You need to hold the arm tight though. The cut off wheel will try to move it.

Re: Rochester carb help possible bad linkage - fixed!

Ok Guys!

Thanks to all of you who went out of your way to post pics and offer advice.

I owe a lot of success on my classic projects to the great guys on these forums and the wealth of knowledge found within them.

After I cut off that knob and relocated the spring everything worked perfectly. I have to get a more permanent mount for the return spring tomorrow before I test drive it, but after it idled a bit and warmed up it now works properly with all 4 barrel open when the peddle is push down as it should.

I cant wait to get this little monster on the road tomorrow now that it is properly woken up.

I posted a pic here of how she looks.
After 5 years on the bodywork I've been working hard now to get her running top notch...did all the welds and paint myself.

thanks again
