Re: Pulsing vibration

We seemed to have reached the limit of what we can do over the internet without more information.
Try downloading one of the apps for you cell phone.
Mabe this one?
Audio Frequency Analyzer.
Look for one that will display the FFT analysis result.
You don't have to be able to read the FFT, I can do that.
What I am attempting to isolate is the frequency of the vibration.
Possible that would help. Or even a video from the cab at 60?
Cheers.

Re: Pulsing vibration

Rear end has been rebuilt and had new limited slip diff installed. I just replaced the axle shafts because that was the only thing reused in differential.

Point well taken. Borrow one. If you were closer I would let you try mine for an afternoon drive. We have a machine shop in town that will build you a nice shaft for around 350 bucks ready to slap in and go. Every truck that I have cut down gets the 3/5 static drop, new shaft and I go thru the brakes. Lucky so far, no vibrations. Also, no pinion angle shims. This leads me to believe that your problem may not be in the shaft. I would re-visit my rear end unit for premature bearing wear. Does this vibration have any whining or sound that accompanies it? One more thing, I would have a passenger ride in the bed, laying prone to see if this vibration transfers to the bed and if it is worse towards the rear or front. It will be simple when you do find it.

Like I said, I would revisit the rear end if need be for PREMATURE brg wear. I read where it was rebuilt but my friend has a long term 69 camaro build with an 8.2 10 bolt (professionally built), with almost the exact same problem you have. And less than 100 miles on this rebuild.
Turns out he didnt like his gear choice either, so he pulled the rear, had another gear set installed, and the vibration issue he had been chasing disapeared.
Now I am not saying that this is your problem, but. I think we all agree someting isn't right. And from experience, just because it is new, does not always make it perfect. I hope you find your issue.

Re: Pulsing vibration

Ordered a 1piece driveshaft today. Should be in on Thursday. We'll see if this fixes it.
