Mator that engine is really detailed and I bet it runs great also and is
Beautiful with all those many reflections one would need some really dark sunglasses to avoid eye strain. The coloring is terrific as I can imagine when someone asks to see the engine and when you open the hood all you would hear is WOW or Awesome!

Well got the exhaust done, just keeping it running, I think I am into it about 150 bucks, manifolds and all thanks to a board member.

I used the ABS plastic pieces to slide around on the ground, as you can see its not pretty. Having to learn how to weld on aluminized tube was a bit of a challenge but I Got Her Done.

Post Exhaust Works

It looks fine, it's a TRUCK .

Some folks have Hot Rods and so want prettier things .

My '69's exhaust system looks similar and I think it sounds O.K. so that's that.

Now, GO DRIVE AND ENJOY IT ! .

I installed the drivers side caliper and rotor with brake line for front power disc brakes and a neat detail trick, I adapted a 67 CST horn button to fit on my late model 14" Camaro steering wheel.Name: IMG_0425.jpg

Love the horn button mod. Was considering same with my grant, they just seem so sketchy in the contact for horn department.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

Thanks, it was difficult to do that in the cold and wet with 40 degree temps. Just test driven today, no leaks, no issues.

That would be why I love these rigs, the last of an era before major intrusion of EPA, DEQ, NHTSA infringements of an entire industry.

I could not ever paying 70 bucks a tire just for the TPMS? crud that has to happen today.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

Here in south west Michigan we are experiencing unusually warm weather for mid February. We have blue sky's and temps in the low to mid 50's today and for the next few days. If we didn't have a cool breeze coming in off the big lake it would be warmer yet. SO, after cleaning both garage floors and doing a little yard work, we took the Highlander out for a little exercise and some grooming. A trip to the self car wash and grocery store limbered the old girl up a little and gave me the itch for spring. After sitting for a couple months, it fired right up and ran great as always. The truck and I are smiling. If the weather does hold I may get the '70 out for a little run in a day or two.

I drove it to breakfast, ran another errand, & came home to do chores. Late today, I went back to bed disassembly. Weather is supposed to be sunny & 70 tomorrow, so I would like to get the bed into pieces tomorrow so I can park my other truck back in the garage.

Well, this is more a " Do with" than do to. PIA son in law thinks the Hotwheels Truck is a waste of time, so when he calls and needs a jump what do you think I drive over?

Sounds like PIA son in law needs to get off his wallet & buy a new battery.

Even though I bought mine one county away, my truck was originally a MT truck.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

Looking awesome jgr. I put my headers on and then got lazy. Just need to pop on exhaust and fenders and it's off to alignment shop (Les Schwab probably)after converting to discs on the front, power steering and lowered a little.
