The truck is in Utah, the seller in Texas. It is almost exactly what I've been looking for.If it was wearing original paint and a little cheaper/closer I would be all over it.

I will probably end up regretting not jumping on it

Really nice truck and, in my view, a good price; even though I just bought my K10, I would be very temped to buy it!

I hesitated twice. One a super was in GA the other a real nice 68 4x4 in New Hampshire. Regret not going for it.

When I saw my 68 in South Carolina I didnt hesitate .

Potentially a re-body. No upper/lower trim holes, lower trim on tailgate, doors aren't '72. I'd ask for a pic of the VIN tag and make sure the VIN matches and the rivets look original.

Agree, several hints on this truck that make one go hmm. Black headliner never came in a Super unless it was equipped with black vinyl buckets - and folks don't normally go the extra mile of pain to swap em unless they are very detail oriented.. SPID looks legit, but definitely agree, one would need to confirm VIN match/rivets etc). I did notice it has the Super's tailgate handle cover at least
The rust near the visors would also cause me to take pause. Real K20 Super or not, I think it's priced a little high with no engine (and all the other items being discussed like the doors, grille, rust, headliner, yada yada). It does however come with a very nice wasp's nest.

Not mine FYI. Looks like a good truck, not sure why they're parting.

71 C10 Cheyenne big block $5.5K (also interesting to see a 71 SPID w/396 on it)

Yes, a little rough, but check out that SPID, would be gorgeous restored - black with blue vinyl interior...

I call fake SPID. The words don't look like what usually appear. 396 in a '71 is just one example. Z53 is Ammeter-Oil Gauge, not what you see on that SPID. That makes it a real unicorn. Can anyone really tell what the year character is? It looks fuzzy to me.

Hmm. Grille, bumper, Cheyenne badge, and 5-lugs all look like a 71-72 model to me. The SPID looks right to me aside from the “396” which is not that far out there out there imho considering the shenanigans with engine marketing in those years. Z53 comes up as gauges on other 71’s with a quick search and I have seen the CST/Cheyenne mixed up on several SPIDs. Although maybe you are referring to it being listed along with a trim package that has it included, which I think is another thing that wasn’t always consistent... Also a fake SPID would normally be real clean and have Super trim and bucket seats, etc. My thoughts, but I certainly don’t know everything!

Another oddity is that the dome lamp switch was standard on Cheyennes/CSTs.

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds

Might be a 70? The 1 is a bit fuzzy? If it is a true 71 the inside rear view mirror, will have a raised area where the mirror base attaches to cab! What do you think WATSON?

My '71 had a 400 badge on the fender under the side marker lamp, 402 on the emission label under the hood and said 396 on the spid.

I think the black n blue SPID is legit. I haven’t ever seen Chrome mis-spelled on a SPID though...
