Re: The "Frankenstine" build;

Hello.

Well did not get back on the front hood latch yet.

Spent all day in Alb (dr appoints)
Got the socket fitting right.
Saw the Dr n showed her that the leg is healed up.
Then went n got shots in my shoulder(Old uncle author)

Will try to get some pic of the hood mount latch.

Well got the OLD truck(48 Ford) for 400.00 with the title.
I got the cab the running gear (rolling frame) the bed n the hood with a very nice front grille, just NO front fenders

So this will be my next project to build starting the 1st of next year.
Just got what I could when I could.

I will try to make a hand drawing of the way I want to make the (48) roadster/hardtop.

Well that is the UP DATE for now.

Re: The "Frankenstine" build;

Hello;

Oldman 3;
Here is a couple of shot of the 2.5t truck that I have in the yard now;
The cab,frame, bed,grille, n hood are the same style as what Im going to pick up on the 1st.
Gave 400.00 with a title.
Once I get a couple of these shots printed up then I'll post a drawing of what I would like to do.
Right now I'm thinking of a 2' drop in the windshield n side windows, but leave the back window a full side.
So that will make the cab look different .
Not going to run front fenders, open wheel with stright axle, with the hood n front grill miniss the head lite in the grille.
Mount the headlite out over the wheels on a bar type holder.
Hope I will be able to draw this up.
Want to run a couple rear cover ! !
Will have the bed just in case.
Looking to run open wheels on the front with like cycle fenders n just large cycle fenders on the back ! !
That is what I have in my head for now.

Hello;

It was good to see n hear that someone set up away to help"Skymangs/Old sarge".
Will try to help after the 1st of the month.

Well got the project that I bid on.
It is a 48-50 fork pickup (pic0
It is in scrap shape.
Dont feel that I did to bad on the deal.
The cab is in good shape.
Got the radiator n mounting frame
got the hood in good shape
The frame is a rolling frame
Just the bed
NO fenders(front or rear)

Well got the 50 chevy truck looking better. (pic)

It has still been raining here ever couple of days.
Good for the lawn mower business.

Hope you all enjoy the pic of the NEW project.

Hey T-P Auto. Good luck on your next project. In your post #505 your description made me think of this truck that showed up at the 2009 car show in Grants Pass, OR.

Re: The "Frankenstine" build;

Hello;

THANKS ad;

Earl;
It is a good looking truck.
I think I will try to chop my next one about 2'
Just have never done anything like that yet ! !
I'm going to make some drawings of the cab(stock)
Then make a drawing with the 2' drop
Convert from double front spring to single spring
May try to all so go with a rack n pinon steering set up.

Will post the drawing when I have them completed.

AD:
Heard any more about "skymangs" ?

Re: The "Frankenstine" build;

Tim, here is the latest on Chris. http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/chrisklapp

I wasn't able to find out what happened. While I don't know Chris, I have seen him helping many people on here with their build questions and I am thinking that is how he makes his living. So he is a pretty generous guy to do that.

People have been donating which is great and hopefully many more folks here can kick in a little bit to help him and his family.

Re: The "Frankenstine" build;

Hello Everyone;

Been enjoying the truck this fall.
Got the wood bed cut n fitted,with the metal strips layed in.
Still have to mount the metal down. (pic)

Have been just taking it easy for a few month.
Have helped my sister.
Then it started to get cold here so just work when the weather lets me.

I'm going to take the next yr(2016) to get the pro panel on the trailer n roofs.

So for now the 50 Ford F1 is on hold.
Will pick up parts as I can.

Re: The "Frankenstine" build;

oldman;

Merry Christmas

I'lll keep everyone updated as I go on the home repairs.

With the cold weather here I'm going to dtock pile the pro panel till about May then work the side of the trailer n the roof on the trailer along with a full new roof on the shops.

Have come up with some 4X8 H-beam 24 ft long.
Going to make n 24 ft rail down the middle of my old shop.
Then about Aug I hope to pour about 1800.00 of concrete to make me a nice shop to work in.

Tim, good to hear from you. The truck bed looks nice. You could document your Ford build in alternate tinkerings section of this site.
Merry Christmas!

Re: The "Frankenstine" build;

Hello;

Thanks to;
AD
flashed

Will being doing the Alternative tinkering with the Ford F1 build.
Will not start on that build till later in 2916 or early 2017.
Will be finding parts for that build.

Have come across a 50 chevy panel !!
It is very rough with our a running gear under it.
Thinking about maybe a 4X4 running gear under the panel.
If I can get the panel at the right price.

Have enjoyed the truck very much.
Working on the heater/deforst n wiper system during the winter as weather permits.

Re: The "Frankenstine" build;

Steady progress is good, first truck I owned was a 47 Ford with flathead lasted about 8 months before I broke an axle. Paid $40 for it and sold it for $50.

Re: The "Frankenstine" build;

Hello Everyone.

I have been gone for sometime.
Been working on the yard,house n shop buildings.
Have been offered a 1848 Chevy panel body(fair) no engine tranny setting on old pu frame.
Still trying to settle on a price.
No title

Also has a 49-50 GMC project truck on S10 frame with a LOT of NEW part from LMC(still in boxes)
He is asking 3,00.00 for this project. Does have a title
Need a LOT of work, but still a project.
He has been working on this for the past 2 yrs

My question on the Chevy panel is what would be a good price?

T-P Auto
Tim

Will try to get some pic later, just talking for now.

Re: The "Frankenstine" build;

Tim, good to hear from you. Throw up some pic's on the panel when you can. They will help in kicking around ideas on price.
