Re: 1969 C10 SWB - Big Block project

Just my 2cents but I don't know if I have seen a truck with 22's that I liked better than 20s. I think 20's are the perfect size. Nothing better than a photoshoped pic to help you decide.

Re: 1969 C10 SWB - Big Block project

I like both wheels you've picked. I must say having 22x9.5's on all 4 corners, I will be replacing them with 20's (8.5 F, 10 R) when I get to that point. I really want more sidewall without adding height.

Re: 1969 C10 SWB - Big Block project

Chad, I'm defiantly not going to be any help on the wheel choice, I've been trying to decide on a set for 2 1/2 years!!!! There are many different styles that look so good on these trucks it makes it a tough decision. ( remember the dirty converse high tops )

Re: 1969 C10 SWB - Big Block project

Just got off the phone with Travis - I'm doing Raceline Razor, 20x10 I'm just going to stick with the 295's out back and stock wheel tubs. I'll get the fronts asap.

Re: 1969 C10 SWB - Big Block project

Thanks fellas.. From what I understand the Razor wheel is an older design but I just really like the clean look with the brushed face. You know the feeling wheel you see something that just 'works' for you? The Razor wheel I posted earlier just clicked as soon as I saw it.

The more I look at Tiffany.. humm. 503/Saddle int, full trim, Speedway white top and grill?

Decisions decisions..

Yes, 20x8.5 on the front as soon as I get my tax back.

Re: 1969 C10 SWB - Big Block project

My favorite thing about your build is your taking everything you like about 67-72 trucks and putting it in one truck. I was really trying to build a year specific truck but the more I think into it I say screw it, I'm not building it for resale purposes but what I like. Keep up the great work and I vote anniversary style colors.

Yeah, this is it fellas. I'm going with the Annie scheme, saddle interior with a little billet here and there with my new Racelines. Dad and I will be working on it more soon, the weather is getting much better here and I'm about to wrap up some house projects.

I have seen this truck in person and I couldnt take my eyes off of it. Of course mines not a real 50th, but .. it's mine.

It'll look great and every other truck out there isn't gold so it'll be different too.

Re: 1969 C10 SWB - Big Block project

I photoshopped a 20x10 version of the Raceline Razor wheels, just to see what it might look like vs. the 24x15. I really really like these wheels.

And, my awesome wife is going to get my front wheels for my birthday.

Re: 1969 C10 SWB - Big Block project

Not much to post but I talked to Travis on Saturday and ordered my front wheels. As the funds come in I'll get the tires..

My bathroom remodel is almost finished. We're putting the final touches on the paint and finishing up the shower now. I will be so relieved when it's done.

Re: 1969 C10 SWB - Big Block project

Chad those Racelines are awesome, I really like the satin center. What backspacing did you end up going with? They will look great with your color scheme. Did Travis tell you how long they will take to be built, I know Racelines take a little longer than most companies. Won't be a big deal unless your really impatient like me can't wait to see more progress on the truck.

Re: 1969 C10 SWB - Big Block project

Travis said 4-6 weeks but that's cool with me. I dont need them right away.

20x10, 5" BS. (narrow housing) 20x8.5 5.375 " BS. I had 5.5" and 5.25" on it before and 5.375 fit nicely on another truck so .. I went with that. I know it's splitting hairs for 1/8" but I want them to fit perfectly. I am going to do 295/40 and 255/40 on this truck so I can get it low. 295/45 is really tall on a ~7" static drop.
