Well being that I just bought my car plus my weekends have been pretty jammed packed with stuff that's why my truck hasn't really been touched. I'm going to try to get some done this weekend maybe some week work just depends on what's going on.

sanding sucks... what kind of sanding are you doing? blocking for final prime, or wet sanding etc. for paint prep?

Re: 1977 Chevy C10 known as SharkBite

I'm just doing the basic sanding it down and throwing primer on it, I'd have to do some research to do wet sanding and all that.

how are you sanding? with a sanding block or just with your hand? I assume you are sanding old paint to get ready to prime it? let's see pics

I already did some before hand sanding not too fond of it, I'm using an electric sander and correct I'm just taking off the old paint and putting primer. Here's your pics my good man

I got a late start today but I've pretty much worked at it non-stop its hot in Houston so when I take breaks it's to drink some water then right back at it

Thanks man I appreciate it!

Believe it or not I'm only using 100 grit, it's taking longer to get through the paint but it's coming over baby bottom smooth!

yeah, do 40 to knock it down fast, or at least 80, then prime. then sand with 100 and another coat of primer. then start block sanding it, won't take too long, just tedious work.

what kind of paint product brand are you using?

you're getting there keep up the good work

Thanks man!! I'm going to have to get some during the week! And yeah I hear you there man, seems what should be fast takes hours! I remember when I did my fenders I think it took me 8-10 hours to do both of them.

I'm using rustoleum self etching primer in a spray can.

Thanks man I appreciate the kind words God knows its hard

Thanks man!! Yeah I knew it was hot but just now I checked the weather it says it's 106!! So you can imagine what it feels like being in a garage more like 110, I'm just glad to be done for the day I'm not sure how much longer I could of taken.

Yeah that's the downfall to our lovely Texas weather when it's hot, it's a vicious hot! I don't blame ya for not having cut your grass it really is too hot.

It's pretty simple once you get the hang of it, biggest advice I can give uou is that once your at the bare metal don't keep sanding it, and make sure to go in 1 motion so it will be smooth

Hey, glad to see you got some work done on it. What are your plans after it is all in primer? Are you going to turn around and paint it or just leave it in primer for awhile. Good progress. Keep it up!

Thank you for the kind words man!

I'm probably going to keep it primer for a while but I'm thinking of maybe going out and getting a black primer to throw over it just to give it another coat of primer. I haven't fully decided yet though.

Re: 1977 Chevy C10 known as SharkBite

I am not exactly 100% sure on this but I thought I was told that primer will take on moisture if left on by itself. You might want to look into putting on a sealer over it until you paint it. Then all you have to do is scuff and shoot I believe. Just food for thought. That is if you didn't already know that.

My computer has not been giving me any update status on some threads so I am trying to catch up.
