Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Tired of long tube headers heat soaking the starter in traffic, installed a high torque corvette style starter and heat shield. Replaced a lot of wires too. Big difference.

Hahaha. About 10 months ago the steelies needed tires so a friend of mine says I got a set of rallies with great tires. So I paid him $100 for the set of 4 with trim rings and center caps. Well today one of the front tires developed some tread separation (bubble in the tread) so I said time to go back to the steelies. So glad I did. I'll post pics wih the copo caps once the sun comes back up. Oh yeah I sold them for $200 in like 15 minutes on CL, no joke!!

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Polished the grille. Surprising what 1500 grit sandpaper, a buffing kit from Harbor Freight and a couple hours of labor can do.

That looks great. Now what you going to coat it with to keep it looking like that?

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Installed my LMC rear mount tank today. I had to recess the top 1 1/4" for the Tanks Inc PA pump fittings to clear the bed. I'll install the pump tomorrow and should be ready to fire up my LT1.

I'm going to put a coat of wax for now, and do some research. I know it probably won't last long because it's an aftermarket grille.

Ok thats not cool because that Porterbuilt stuff is expensive. I had thought about them, and also looked at No Limit and RideTech for my shortbed step.
I also want that handle like its on rails ride. Is there something you can do or add to get it to ride better?

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Just got done with my "Mitsu-rolet" spare tire winch install on the '70. I got a spare tire winch (chain type) from a Mitsubishi truck at the getting place for $10.00. Spent another $7.00 on bolts, nuts, washers. I had all the steel I needed already. The two piece jack handle also works the winch just fine.
