Re: Boss 338 Wheels **GROUP BUY**

Just spoke with eagle, for the rest of you waiting-

They informed me there was a hickup with someone at corporate on the drop shipments. They are working out the details and authorization to continue drop shipping wheels for you guys. I should have an answer within an hour or so, worse case is they will have to send all the wheels to CA and I will pick them up and ship them personally.

I'll let you know what I find out when they get back to me.

Thanks a lot for looking into that. I hope you don't have to ship them all yourself. You've done enough to help us out already!

Re: Boss 338 Wheels **GROUP BUY**

Word of warning for anyone else who was planning on BF Goodrich g-Force KDW tires ... they changed the tread design a while back and with that change came a change in available sizes. If like me you were planning on 245/40-20 and 295/40-20, you'll be stuck with the old tread design that have been sitting in a warehouse for quite some time.

Went in to pick up my tires today and the front tires were badly cracked across the tread. The store manager called to various other warehouses across the country and was able to locate two more tires, one in Florida and one somewhere else. Neither was cracked (yet) but one was made in 2006 and the other in early 2007. I'm gonna work with him on Monday to see what we can do about finding other options in those sizes for about the same price, but I'm not holding my breath.

Just thought I should give you guys a heads-up in case you were ordering online and couldn't see what you were getting until it's too late. I don't know about you guys, but I don't want tires that have been sitting for several years no matter what the price. I'll pay more and get fresh rubber.

EDIT: Here's the link to BFG's website showing the available sizes for those tires:
http://www.bfgoodrichtires.com/tire-...-t-a-kdw-tires
The sizes that end with "XL" are the new tread design (and therefore the fresher tires).

EDIT #2: (copied from a new post below) Stopped by the tire store again today and the manager called BFG directly. Turns out they are NOT discontinuing the KDW in those sizes -- they just aren't making them in the new tread pattern in those sizes and some of the old tread pattern sizes are backordered but WILL continue to be produced. So I picked up the rear tires today and paid for the front ones so I could get in on the $60 rebate before it expires on Saturday. They'll call me when the fronts come in, but it could be several weeks. No big deal, since the rims are also backordered. Just glad that I can still get them, and for an excellent price!

Re: Boss 338 Wheels **GROUP BUY**

Anyone have thoughts about going with 265/50-20 and 295/45-20? They are exactly the same height (and therefore sidewall) -- 30.5" tall with a 5.2" sidewall. Too tall? Too wide up front? Just looking for options within the KDW line in the new tread design -- there's a $60 rebate but only through a week from today (ends 4/24). I'll have to go to the tire store and see if they have any tires this size in stock so I can see them in person, but it seems bigger than I really want (too tall, a little too much sidewall.)

Anything over ~28" up front is too tall usually (even w/mild drops like a 4/6).

That's what I was afraid of. Damn. My only other option if I want to stick with BFGs in the new tread design is to go with a lower profile, and I **hate** the rubber-band look.

That's what I ran into also. I couldn't get an answer on when the old design was going to be produced so I went with the new tread pattern and a different size for my fronts. Should work out fine. I kind of like the new pattern actually.

I would have liked the new pattern in the old sizes. Unfortunately, the new pattern only seems to come in lower aspect ratios than I wanted or else much taller than I wanted. So I'll stick with the old tread and get the fronts whenever they come in. If they were the only thing holding up the truck being on the road, I'd probably have made a different decision. However, that's far from the case.

Sublvr72, did you ever figure out what was going on with the drop shipments? I was wondering when those of us that are waiting for our wheels should hear something? My wheels were in stock and I havent heard anything from Eagle Wheels on being shipped or back ordered or anything. Just wondering. Thanks
Scott

Re: Boss 338 Wheels **GROUP BUY**

I just got home from Eagle, 10 more sets of rims went out today. We had to settle some accounting problems on their corporate side which is why no wheels were shipped last week. I settled it up today and they shipped out more wheels.

as for the 18's, my sales rep lost all the 18" wheel orders I gave him. That's why they didn't ship. I gave him fresh copies of all outstanding orders today so he can work on them. As soon as they are located they will be shipped.

For those who ordered Chrome, the 20x10 -3 revision are hitting warehouses right now. There is still no ETA on the fronts. I'm having them ship the rears as soon as they can get their hands on them so you will get a partial shipment if you ordered a set of 20" chrome in 5x5, and when the front's come in they will follow.

That mirrors my experience with the BFGs -- I've got the rears and waiting for the fronts with no ETA. Can't wait to get the rears at least!

One set should be mine, I got my email today stating that my order has shipped! Can't wait.

If I ordered a staggered set, are the 18's from my order not coming?

EDIT: I just realized, my 18's from my staggered set should be coming, they will just be the -2 revision as I anticipated.......Thanks a bunch sublvr and brossow for all the help

That's because you are a Canada order, they don't want to drop ship any Canada orders when they told me they would originally. So due to all that confusion, all Canada orders were put on hold by Eagle. Then they had the issue with Corporate that I had to take care of so that was another week of wheels not being shipped.

I finally had a set shipped to the warehouse near me so I can pick them up and personally ship them to you. As I told you via PM I picked up your wheels yesterday so just be patient and they will be shipped before the end of the week.
