I hear you for sure. It is supposed to be a nice weekend here in Ohio, so I hope to get this thing back together and drive it a couple times at least.

I think everyone on this site would have enough to build multiple projects if we had that kind of money, haha.

Re: 1970 SWB : Porterbuilt to the Extreme "Double E"

I think I fixed the tranny leak with a little ultra black and some sticky red grease.

Now I have a problem with the starter grinding when I turn the truck over. I have shimmed and taken shims out and reshimmed but it went from grinding to whining. I'm pretty sure I got it too close because the starter housing broke. Got another new one and installed it today. Still grinding. I'm puzzled. I do not have the rear brace on so I'm gonna try that next. I hope it isn't the other problem I have heard with the flex plate being warped, I hope that isn't the case it is brand new also.

Unfortunately I don't think I'm gonna get to drive it this year. Sucks.

Sucks to hear about the starter issue Mike, I had a similar issue with my old 96 Tahoe I had. Turned out the flex plate was missing some of the teeth.

It is too darn cold here in Ohio to work on anything. I hope to have some sort of progress in the next couple months. I did get some new threads though.

Re: 1970 SWB : Porterbuilt to the Extreme "Double E"

This is what I have been spending the past few months working on rather than the truck. Completed the painting, the floors, and the ceilings. I only have a few pieces of trim left and it is done.

Now it is time to revisit what is in the barn.

Now its time to get back to business. She has been waiting too long.

I am finally going to start working on cutting some sheetmetal for the bed parts. I don't know if I am putting the speed holes in or not but this is pretty much the jist of what I am going for. The other gray pieces are spacers for raising the bed floor.

Awesome to see this going again! I just finished freshening our kitchen and dropped our spare bux on appliances

Speed holes might be cool. Assume you'd put something behind them?

Re: 1970 SWB : Porterbuilt to the Extreme "Double E"

I finally got the nerve to buy these awesome Tubz from Mike at Slosh Tubz. I can't wait until it at least gets out of the 20's here in Ohio so I can get back in the garage and work on this darn truck.

Oh and by the way the Kids were just as excited as I was because they got a new toy (the box) to play in.

Re: 1970 SWB : Porterbuilt to the Extreme "Double E"

Just ordered some goods from Travis @azproperformance. I ordered a new radiator with dual fans, Dakota digital VHX gauges, and a new sway bar.

Took a couple pictures these past few weeks proving I still have a truck.

I've been trying to align doors and the front end. This isno fun. Hopefully I can get back to it since it will be in the 30's finally.
