Thanks Kyle, I had a great holiday. Hope you did too.

Thanks Ben. Yep, I just knew it was gonna be clogged too. I took the rails off and the injectors literally looked brand new. Then I found the originals on the shelf...they were pretty gunked up. So, I figured it had to be the old gas.

Thanks John,
I may actually end up selling the cab in this thread. Not too sure yet but I am wanting to find a really clean uncut cab.

I thought I had a solid one out back. (it was near perfect 10-15 years ago) I went out there today only to find the rats and mice have pretty much ruined the floor pan. Now, I don't know what to do?

Re: 1969 Short Wide

Small update: (sorry no pics).
I think I have a game plan for the radiator support. I got the original one all blasted today. I'm thinking of hacking the rust out and replacing it with new metal. It looks pretty straight forward. We'll see.

The cab I have been planning to use is pretty much toast. I may end up attempting to re-install a drip rail on this one. It's just metal right

Re: 1969 Short Wide

Great job on the exhaust and getting it running.

I am struggling with the which cab to fix issue too. They all need work but in different areas. It would be nice to find a good or better one to start with but they are pretty hard to come by for a reasonable amount of money.

Thanks!
I feel for you man. I know exactly what you're talking about. I have one that was rust free when I parked it 12-15 years ago. Now it has vent holes all over thanks to those little rodents. I have always kept poisen in it but they eat it up as fast as I put it out..

Re: 1969 Short Wide

Time for a small update:
I have been planning this for a while. I spent a few hours this week to fabricate some exhaust pipe mounts out of some scrap stainless I had in my shop. I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for anywhere so I just made them. I also bought THESE and THESE to use with my brackets. I know it seems overkill but I didn't want to use anything but stainless on the exhaust (hope to have $$$ for stainless headers some day).
Sorry some are crappy cell pics. I will get some better ones
On to the pics:

Sawed and shaped the .125" ss sheet stock:

Match drilled all the pieces:

I made some quick and dirty break/bending and forming tools:

Installed:

Love the hangers.
They make a patch panel for under the battery.
I'm sure you will fab your own.

Re: 1969 Short Wide

Man, I need to get my exhaust up into the crossmember like that. I didn't think I'd be going that low with it but I'm starting to think my headers and pipes as they are now will start to become a problem if I go any lower than 4.5 / 6 static.

Thanks Kyle, I forgot you have sheetmetal gear over there. Sometimes I do this kind of stuff just to see if I can make it work with what I've got....
How are at making patch panels for core supports>?

Thanks Keith, I'm aware of the patch panel. I think the price around $80? not sure how it will fit either? I just tore into this the other day. I really thought I had better sheetmetal than I do.....

Re: 1969 Short Wide

what a killer job on the exhaust....i'm way jealous.
On the radiator support, wouldnt it be easier and nicer to just find a clean one to start, i mean OBVIOUSLY you have the mad skills to fix it...it's just clean OEM core supports are pretty plentiful.

Nice job on the hangers. Try not to feel to bad my core support has way more rust then that. No way I was going to attempt to fix it so I just ordered a new one. Fixing my cab has made me hate rust work lol.
