Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds

Thanks. Yeah, I expect a few comments about the wheels, but I just don't care! It's mine, and I'll do what I like. I bought it stock about a month ago, super clean. Stock tbi 350, 700r4, 208, 1/2 tons (it will never go off-road). Going in this week for a tranny rebuild and maybe some vortec heads and a cam.

That's the plan so far. I know that intake manifold is super expensive, but back to carb seems like a step in the wrong direction to me.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds

I don't know, nice truck but looks like a lifted 2wd with the smooth tires and huge rims, rims may look a bit better with some tires that looked more aggressive with all the lift. Overall I like the lift and truck.

I think he was referring to your truck. Bacons truck sits low with 20" wheels. I see the pic perfectly.....You have a sweet truck btw

Oh, ok thanks. I know it's not the best picture MudMan, but it is 4x4. The tires are 37/13.5/24 all terrains. Not a mud tire, but not exactly smooth either. Like I said before, the truck will never see mud, and I don't like the roar of "mud" tires. Thanks for all the compliments though! I'll try to get some better pictures when I get it back from tranny rebuild.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds

Thinking about running these on my c10 with a 5" front and rear drop. Also thinking of doing a matte dark maroon paint job with all the chrome blacked out to match the wheels. I know the pic is of 6 lug wheels but they are available in a 5 on 5. Opinions?

Nice rim, so what size width are you thinking and rim size also, front to back the same or wider rear and rim size front to back, tell us more. How are they $ wise also.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds

Till later this year they are only available in 17x9. Then I guess by summer they will add 18x9 and 20x9. I'd like to run the 18s. The 17s I priced thru my local tire shop at 816 a set with tax and shipping from California included in that.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds

18's would be nice, by 9" I imagine still right, so is a set 2 rims which means $408 a rim then. Not bad overall, sure a nice looking rim.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds

Wow, only $204 a rim, nice price, guess I am used to 8 bolt rims lately with 40" tires @ $600 a pop per tire Buy 5 so you have a matching spare at that price, better than waiting for one if damaged.

Well better safe, have seen rim designs change or become not available at times so for that price not a big deal. Keep us posted.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds

After looking at all of these trucks, I can see that I have my work cut out for me if I want to feel "worthy" when I'm finished. Here's my 1980 C10 stepper. Stock 250 straight six, with a turbo 400 trans and a 12 bolt rear. Dropped with spindles and coils in the front, flipped in the back. 255/60-15 all around on 15x6.5 rally's (need a set of 8's for the back). Going for a really simple "dropped stock work truck" look when I'm done. Just finished the 1973 grille today. When I get the bodywork done, going to shoot it a dark hunter (or British racing) green. Got a build thread going - "my first build thread - 1980 stepside". Hope to get it back outside for some better, more current pics tomorrow...

Nice stance, wheel/tire combo that are in proportion.
