Ok, so I got back in touch with Ryan to do me up some additional renderings to work out my interior details. Here's the line art proof of what he came up with as well as the badge design for Steve over at Billet Badges to use.
Not 100% sure how we're going to work the bezel for the door handle - may end up re-dying that area in black to match the leather & only carrying the charcoal micro-suede leather up to the billet trim around the opening since it'd be hard to get any material to mold properly into that space & remain there for good... The gauge bezel will be getting custom billet inserts & you can see my plan to add a boost gauge where my old wiper controls were located since now they'll be on the ididit column. The area on the passenger side around the A/C vents will be one piece of billet aluminum hopefully & want that center section (sans the badge area) to have that "knurled" look in the detail. It's yet to be seen if I can get this effect or not... Let me know what you guys think so far because I can still go back to Ryan & have him alter things. |

Not sure what your doing for actual dash but id have it fiberglassed and smoothed as far as the emblem piece I personally wouldn't do it, reminds me of the companies that put their name all over everything just me though

My dash will be getting covered in black leather to match the door panels & all.
As for the name deal, I kinda like it that way & this truck is going to see its fair share of shows & coverage, so I don't mind letting the companies have their names displayed on it - not that they've asked me to though... |

Appreciate that man! I am trying my best to get the things that make the square bodies special & not get so carried away that it ends up just being a bunch of "stuff" stuck in there... I look forward to seeing his final rendering - have asked him to split the billet pieces that go around the gauges into 3 separate sections rather than one continuous section like most of the ones on the market day do. We'll see how it comes out.

Oh man this truck keeps getting better! Ok, here's my .02 on the dash bezel. Put the Boost gauge in between the speedo and tach. You'll want to be able to see it clearly while you're driving down the road. Where the wiper switch can be used for something that doesn't change quite so rapid. I know you're trying to stay true to the square style, but you've changed so much, I'd want to alter the gauges to a better design as well while I was in there.

I did think of that placement as well - trouble is, I have a "dead space" on that lower area where my wiper controls used to be at - the ididit column has a stalk to control them, so I have to have something to fill this area & since the light switch is set low, it wouldn't look right empty there...

You'll find something else to put there. Believe me. How about the controls for the Snow Kit? If you're like me, I love to see the boost gauge wrap, so I like to have it where I can see it.

Snow controller will most likely mount below the dash or somehow get integrated into the overhead console - haven't ironed that one out just yet... |

Like the look of the pillar gauge pods as I had a dual gauge version in my Dodge Ram. I just don't think the addition fits the overall look of the square body interiors & honestly don't need the boost gauge directly in my line of site. I'll take a look at them once they come out though - who's making them?

What about swapping the specific gauge locations? Put the boost gauge up in the quad region & move a gauge of lesser importance (volt meter) to the lower spot.

Well, unfortunately I had the current gauge cluster custom modified & built by Red Line without this supercharger plan in mind - I have no desire to put out the kind of cash it would take to re-modify it with a boost gauge there & then in turn to move that gauge down...
Like I said, for me, I really don't feel the need to look at the boost gauge the whole time I am driving along. I probably wouldn't have even ended up running a boost gauge had I not had a "hole" to fill in the dash where my wiper controls used to be... |

One quick question, now that you putting a supercharger on it your not going to have anything sticking out of the hood right? Just my opinion but I don't really like that kind of stuff on this body style.

No, this set-up won't stick out - would probably even clear a stock hood, but I am running a 3" fiberglass cowl hood, so I know it'll clear. Believe me, I am not fond of stuff protruding through the hood either....

That pic is exactly how my dash will end up looking aside from it being black leather rather than blue. My door panels will get the same treatment, but the insert area inside the billet trim will be the charcoal micro-suede material.
The shop doing my work is located there in Auburn where the truck is & it's called Romans Custom Upholstery. It's a smaller shop, but I have visited it & seen his work & am totally sold on his abilities!!! I have an outside shop that is going to be making all the billet interior pieces once my design is done & we send them my panels for mock-up & measurements. |
