This picture reminds me of a truck I drive past every now and again. Its a lonely old 1960 Ford wrecker. Looks like it was driven in to its place near the road and parked some 20 odd years ago. I should snap a pic next time by and post.

Yeah you should. I should have stopped today when a passed a farm that had a 67-72 C/50 grain body out. Those old dodges make me smile, like a puppy dog. The '50s was the peak for Dodge trucks.

Here are a few random trucks I passed by and had presence of mind enough to snap a few pics of.

That first one is quite a picture, showing the various models. I'd love to have that snub-nose

Talk about a beautiful truck!

That snub nose is owned by a guy near me. He and his son are quite the truck collectors. They have a lot of really neat stuff at their place. I was down there looking at parts for another project of mine and that was the truck that peaked my interest the most so I asked if it was ok to walk back and take a few photos. If I remember right, its a low-miler truck and has either a 265 or 283 V8 engine. Looks very complete and very restoreable.

That truck you posted is a Pacific Truck right? I watched a few videos of those on youtube. Pretty neat.

Re: Trucks Are Beautiful

Yep, it's a Pacific. One hella truck right there, ey? That yellow truck is a real stand-out. Even with a V8?? How cool? I'd have to go back and look at the picture, but I think it's a '57, so could be a 283. Either one is just cool. I would restore that all original. It appears to be more like one to "pretty up" than need an actual restoration. She's aged beautifully. I like the fade on the paint and all! Sounds like it's in good hands and won't be turned into a just another goofy pickup truck... I hope

Re: Trucks Are Beautiful

Pretty decent late L-model yet. Some great pictures added. Last Tuesday out on I-70 I saw one sweet truck after the next. I only run about 20 miles, but I must have seen a dozen assorted obviously well put together well cared for owner/operator or small fleet rigs. Not all together and hauling different trailers, but I mostly recall covered wagons and grain haulers, like Timptes. A few Curtain-sides

I'll bet your correct, Tim. I've never pulled and RGN with anywhere near that many axles, but, you don't just go anywhere with one.

I don't know how old, "old" is Tim, but here is one I'm pretty proud of. This ones only 16 years old. The wheels need to be polished, but nobody has the time.

You know, I have a good camera, but it's never where I need to take pictures.

That don't make-em like that anymore, so that's old (and it's a shame they stopped). Sixteen years of workin' can make a truck look ruff, unless you treat it right. I've always liked the service/lube trucks an outfit needs that runs equipment.
