Re: Crash's 72 K10

Today was a big day..

I picked up the cab.. Kyle did a great job on the paint… I picked it up around 2:00pm and with the help of my wife we had it sitting on the frame by 5:30pm..

Tomorrow I will bolt the cab to the frame and hopefully start the fatmat install…

Great day! You got the cab back, sitting on the frame, and to top it all off... Marshall Dillon is on in the background. I like your style

Wow.. What a build.. I just spent quite a while catching up on this from the start. Amazing! I love all of the attention to detail. Nice work. It's coming along great!

Subscribing for the homestretch here!

Re: Crash's 72 K10

Oh man! Your garage looks like mine has for the last 9 months. I did pretty much the exact same thing on my 72 SWB GMC 4X4. I had just as much rust on the cab floor - took 3 days of cutting and welding to get it back...

I did powdercoat on all my chassis parts, axles, springs, brake backing plates, etc. There is no paint that will stand up to the elements for very long.

A shop here in Escondido, CA, did every single chassis part, as well as hood hinges, radiator support, inner wheel wells, and many other small parts for $800 in a gloss black. Nothing can hurt that stuff. Worth the investment.

Keep those pics coming, I'm interested to see everything you do to that machine!

Re: Crash's 72 K10

Took a couple of days off to start building the cab up…

High hump covered and ready to bolt down

Install the parking brake mechanism

Installed the new brake switch .. this will allow the TCC to work..

Started on the wiring next.

Installed the dash pad – Man the dust really stands out on the black with the camera flash.

Installed ignition switch..

Tomorrow I will continue…

Thanks.. Hopefully in a few months my shop will look a lot different. Wow that sounds like a great deal on that much powder coating.. Good luck on your build..

Crazy, isn't it Mark? A paint and body guy that you can't keep up with?

I need to get some wiring lessons from you. Nice and neat.
