I still say it's a 64, emblem in the hood trim, parking lights in the bumper and flat fronts on the fenders. It also has the flat grill. I had a 62 and 63 but wanted a 64 they're my favorite. Maybe someday. ........

Man, that's a lot of work to put into a work truck. This coming from one who always puts a lot into his. They weren't concerned with making it attractive, just more cab space, is how it appears to me. Ah yes, different strokes for different folks, and so on and so and and shoobie doobie doobie

Itza wutza. Reminds me of a Boss Hog trike Corvette tail with a NASCAR paint job. The owner next to it with a cowboy hat and sneakers listening to Bach and eatin' sushi

I think it could be pretty cool with more work. Looks unfinished to me. I'd mold fender sides and tailgate to at least blend with the fuselage, yet be a pickup using what's there. Mold a minimal front to wrap down low around the motor sort of over the tires with a sort of Vette nose that uses the Vette laid back radiator with maybe 1/2 that exposed. Somehow make it look good being a stylized hot rod roadster pickup Vette

I have to agree that it looks unfinished. The front frame horns really kill it for me. This is just my opinion to those of you that disagree with me .

Re: Pic Thread:Sumthin Differnt

Here's something to help understand the vehicle some. There is also a T-bucket hot rod for sale by the same seller and I recognize it. The owner is a biker dude who lost an arm. I guess he built the T-bucket so he could stay in the wind. He drives it year 'round. I have seen him dead of winter running around in it. That build has about 30 years of driving on it, and it gets driver more than any hot rod I ever knew. I guess he got that Vette wrecked for cheap and make it go again with his wild idea. I like his spirit, he doesn't seem to let anything stop him from life. I mean, he has himself a car that looks like whatever but drives and handles like a Vette.

I did save this one, but it won't upload because it's code is invalid? Never had that happen before

The ad opened for me and that's a t bucket I understand. It's an old build for sure but it's cool being "old school".

Built 30 years ago to drive and it has been driven. Doesn't look like old work. Just a simple paint job, all the suspension painted black instead of chrome. He sure has kept the engine clean and header pipe chrome shiney. As well as those Cragars

Re: Pic Thread:Sumthin Differnt

To me the first Corvette thingy is unsaleable, especially at that price. Its a personal piece with no thoughts on resale. It definitely belongs in this thread.

His other car for sale, the T-bucket, looks to be a typical 70's build. Dunno if he will get his asking price, but I think its a neat little car.

Re: Pic Thread:Sumthin Differnt

I agree on all that. I have a sneaky feeling it has to do with Maryland passing a new law that enforces the intended use for historic plates...no daily driving, no to work, to school, no transport of passengers or goods. It really sucks and I think this guy is on disability and these are his only transportation. They stand out and I bet he got snagged and is trying to raise money for something decent and newer. I just talked to a State Trooper last week about it and he said we are only supposed to drive them to shows. I told him I was certain he was wrong, that we are allowed to take Sunday cruises, drive to get service, just not daily drive. He said nope, just shows. I went home and looked the law up and I am right, he is wrong. But, he's the guy who pulls you over and runs you through the ringer. They say ignorance of the law is no excuse, so what's the excuse for the ones who enforce laws to not even understand the laws "we" pay them to enforce?

Re: Pic Thread:Sumthin Differnt

His ads say he needs the money for his wedding (sucker heh). We have those plates out here too. I see so many totally junky obviously non collectible (but old enough) cars running around with those plates on them.

I had those on my Unibody when I got it. Got rid of them right away. My plan was to drive it where ever and when ever I wanted. No interest in trying to pull the wool over anyone's eyes.

I guess if you are going to run with them and you are following the rules it would be best to keep a copy of the statute in your ride.

Re: Pic Thread:Sumthin Differnt

That's exactly what I plan to do. I did write it down to carry already. First they changed the age requirement to only 20 years and I saw the writing on the wall. A '97 Nissan Sentra can be put in the road w/o safety inspection (one time deal here for regular reg.) or emissions testing. So, there ya go, a loop hole to allow easily slapping plates on totally non-collectible junk. The original bill I was fine with. They wanted to start requiring safety inspections for vehicles '86 or newer, but they changed it to restricting use for everyone. My '72 is kept in excellent mechanical condition. I service the wheel bearings and inspect brakes every year (which is about now to first snow...usually December). Everything works on it but the rust in outer rockers would fail inspection. I know my truck inside and out and stay familiar of it's condition better than the average person with newer stuff. I'm not putting the public at risk, so where's the foul? It is also a collectible vehicle, I am in two national antique truck clubs as well as a local chapter. There is something between old junk and show cars and the laws makes like that's not so. I don't get the no transport of passengers. So I can't have a friend ride along to the show?? That's ridiculous. Goods? You mean like my clothing, toiletries, easy-up, chairs, cooler? It's a dumb law and I wish they went with the original plan. I plan to fix my rockers (anyway), run it through inspection, and run regular registration. I'll just hang my restored '72 Farm Truck tags on the wall I guess.

This would be a good topic for a thread. How about sumthin' differnt from my Safeway parking lot. Nothing out of this world, but nothing I'm used to seeing, especially in my town

I'd call this a unique Unimog-Motorhome.

It's for sale too... Priced at roughly $20k.

Surprisingly, it has been for sale quite long.

Very interesting. I'd like to see that thing in action off road waddling it's way through mud or climbing over rough terrain.
