No, i bought the original one... it was easier at the time. oh, and i made 6 filter heads, but 4 are spoken for and two are for me... but i have a CNC program for the pockets now, so i may consider producing them if i see a market.

that would have me a little nervous too. thats a little harder to replace than a SOP high steer arm you can buy from 100 different places

sadly i had to trade my late model ('96) dana 60 and a few bucks for it, so i am still even on dana 60s. but, i still have the option to buy that one back if i start having withdrawls.

not particularly progress, but now i dont have to leave the truck on stands while i build an axle the way i want. not sure if ill use this one or the one in the truck already

Ryan
so, since its established that i "might" have a dana 60 thing...

i picked up this 1978 gem today. it was an accident, i swear.

beautiful running 350/465/205, and of course a 60/14ff.

i may toss it all in my "parts truck" and make a nice little beater out of it

Man Im so jealous of you guys that dont live in the rust belt . Cool stuff like that was gone long long ago up here . Nice find ! A D60 front is like a toylet . You could live without one but why on earth would you want too. Having more that one is better too ! That way if one is broken you can just use the other one .... lol.

I bet you can sell that body here in the midwest and help fund part of your trip this fall. Just an idea.

Throw a 10B or a 44 in the front and drive it to the cornhead's yard, throw a price that is at least double what you paid for it on it and not have to dispose of anything parts-wise--and make a few bucks while you're at it.

Once it sells, you can go back and get that Atlas Moving dry van behind it in the picture and use it to store your parts inventory in. Win-win.

this one has some body rot. there is a boat load of bondo on it and i think it caused some rusting issues.

so much mud in it i dont think there is a strait panel on it. the service bed is even rusted to hell. the frame and axles are totally fine though? weird

i like that last idea...

i would toss a 3/4 front in it and do that but it is really not worth it. the cab floor is untouched perfection, but the rest of it is beat to death. purrs like a kitten and supposedly had a rebuild on the 350 3-4 years ago. was sitting unused for the last year and half. i can use that in the piss bucket yellow truck in my driveway since the everything in it leaks and it runs, but in desperate need of love. as for doubling my money, that should be pretty easy if i barter it off. i dont want to discuss what i paid. people will get angry.

Re: 72 k20 project

oh yeah, no kink in the hood, but mud on the front edge. maybe it TKOed a deer or something.

i kept looking for something nice, but all i found was bondo. my dad has a totally rusted out 73 so i was going to give him some parts, but im not sure they are worth it. ill check it out for realz when i get it home to display proudly for my neighbors!

I was thinking that moving van trailer would be a sweet start for my pulling tractor I want to build in 20yrs.

Re: 72 k20 project

Well even from that far away they still look better than mine, unless they're rusted.

And are you sure its not a 79 or had the front bezels swapped out?

Re: 72 k20 project

its titled as a 78. not sure on the build date. the fenders and doors are rusty. the rockers cab corners and floors are as good as i have ever seen. literally still has the factory paint under the peeling undercoating on the floors. may have a little rust spot on the inside of one cab corner. supports are good too. i think the cheezy bondo/repaint job ruined the panels that had work. under the carpet, as far as i have looked is mostly factory paint with a few tiny areas of surface rust. core support has 0 rust as far as i can tell. inner fenders are not terrible but they have some rusty spots.

IDK, that means I'd have to buy or build a tractor to pull it with.

If the other Ryan keeps it up, the next build will be a C60. I'd really like to find an old KW or Pete to do next though. Leading up to finding a trailer and building a Diesel Super Stock tractor.

Semi-tractor. We already have pieces of tractor-tractors.

You should see them when the Hot Farm and Pro Stock guys are done with them. Nothing like having a 4 post drive on lift that's mobile.

If we get a chance to get near the pits this weekend I'll try to get you some pics of inside of some of these things.
