Re: Project "Just an Old Truck"

Even though I didn't get to go to the GG in Nashville it's been a good week. I have put more than 337 miles on the old farm truck in the last 7 days. Even spent some time tonight with a couple of board regulars, Hart_Rod and JMedero, at a local cruise-in. Good times!

Re: Project "Just an Old Truck"

I had a similar wheel weight problem on both of my passenger cars, ended up being that the shop doing the work was retarded and from what I gathered didnt know how to set up their tire balance machine. If you use weights on the inner lip in conjunction with sticky weights on the inside of the wheel there is a setting for that, and a setting for weights on the outside and inside lips of the wheel, and some other variations. Well they had it on the wrong setting for where they had the weights on my wheels and the tires would show balanced according to where the machine thought the weights were on the wheel, and in reality they were off. After many headaches I went to another shop and discovered that all of my wheels were off at least 4 oz. Needless to say I wont ever do business with the first shop ever again, they screwed up two completely different cars in the same way.

Anyway, back on topic. Great looking truck and did you have a chance to take some pics of your brakes with the wheels on?

Darn you Keith with your good advise!

Someone offered to buy my Coys, so I am thinking about getting something else. Daytonas and 338s can be bought at great prices these days, so I'm giving it some thought.

Re: Project "Just an Old Truck"

Just my 2 cents in case you want it if your looking to change from your Coys to the 338's or Daytonas then I would keep your Coys. They look great on your truck and the other wheels wouldn't be an upgrade over them. But if you were looking to get something of the Billet variety then I would definitely sell the Coys and go that direction.

Re: Project "Just an Old Truck"

Billet wheels would be awesome, I'd love to swipe n2billets idea and run some Bonneville Gs but one wheel costs more than my complete set of wheels and tires. I have a lot of things yet to do on this truck like; A/C, window/door seals, PB coil over suspension, and some detail work that cost $$. I'm just looking at options that for now cost me zero $$.
