Re: Project: "just a little rust repair, turned LS2 swap"

Ok I have been super busy here lately and haven't had much time to get anything done on the truck. I'm hoping after the first of the year I'll be able to get the ball rolling again.

Re: Project: "just a little rust repair, turned LS2 swap"

Hey, I'm in the making of a hinged bed floor and saw how you did. I'm thinking to do the frame like you did but I don't see how the hinges work exactly. When you open your floor, does the floor come down "under" the bed in the front of the bed or is the hinges mounted so the floor opens the whole way? (if u understand my question)...The stripes that sits on the outer wood pieces, how's them attached?

Everything on this build looks awesome!

Hey thanks!
We played with the hinge set up to get it figured out but it hinges up and away on top. On the stainless, with my wheel wells being widened were able to fit the wood to the widths we wanted because we made our own boards and made it all line up that way.

holy cow. my wife always ask me why I'm up so early on Saturdays even when I don't have work. now I can tell her its to read through 29 pages on the forum of one of the best builds I have ever seen. I have been hooked on these trucks since I was my dad bought ours 22 years ago. I have never seen rust repair go so well. I think gm produced these truck with rust on them already and yours is rust free great job guys!! now let's see that paint

Very cool build here Calvin, the full tubular chassis with the corvette suspension is to say the least a work of art. Impressive work going on here. Keep up the great work, can't wait for the big reveal.

I forgot about that already. Too much build up, the excitement is gone... but then I see comments like this and I'm anxious to see the pics again!

Re: Project: "just a little rust repair, turned LS2 swap"

Sorry everyone! lol I still have had the time to put into getting everything wrapped up yet. The past few days though I have got some garage time in to work on some odds and ends. Hopefully within the next 2 months or so I'll be able to call it complete. I'm trying yo hold out on any paint pictures until I at least get the grill in it.
