Thanks... No I cannot take all the credit. This was my idea for the cage design, but had another guy do the bending and welding.
Do you like the grab handles build in, and the way it is bolted to the visor hole? |

I do like the grab handles, thought about adding something similar to mine.
One comment on the visor bolt..my first thought was flex. When I am wheelin my cage and body flex quite a bit, duno if that is a good idea or a bad one when thinking about flex..will it tear your window frame or brake your windshield? Duno? I do know the gap between my cage and the windowframe does change when flexing..just my first thought and my .02c worth  Nice cage that is for sure

Yep, the handles are great - I hate it when I see (in pictures or on tv) someone grabbing a hold of the roll cage. Great to give them something that actually is okay to grab ahold of.
I had the same concern as Burt4x4 concerning the cage bolted to the windshield frame.

It's hard to say if it will cause a problem for you. Agin with my cage it does flex independent from the body. I do not have my cage tied to the frame, just the body...
Here is a pic of mine, you see the gap between the window and the roll pad. I warn passangers not to hold the cage up high between the window frame and roll bar cuz when flexing that space closes up and could pinch your hand/fingers. Another reason grab hadles are a great solution.

Now that we have the cage installed. We decided to just take the body off the frame, and finish them in seperate pieces. We are going to mount the body to a skid with casters, and then finish blasting a few spots on the frame that we couldn't get to. Here is where we left off at.

This build rocks. I'm extremely impressed with the body panel replacement and if possible would love to see some more pics of the bed panel replacement. Any cool plans for the drivetrain or will it be stock? Does your cage interfere with the AC vents? WIll you even have AC?

I don't have anymore pictures of the bed panel just on #8 & 13, and it wasn't that hard to do. and yes the cage will clear my vents I made sure they would. I am planning on having a/c which I bought the unit from vintage air (nice kit by the way) Here is a better picture of the cage by the vent |

Well it's been a long time since my last post, and wanted to show where the project is at currently.
Seems like everytime I get back into the project, something always pulls me away. This time I'm determined to put everything else in line after the blazer. |
