Re: huero's project "TRA-BAJO"

Hey guys,
I can not believe how time has passed since I last got to work on the truck. These last couple of years have been financially tough for the family and I really could not justify spending hard earned dinero on toys. Times are tough for many us and I will not complain. I can only thank God for helping us pull through it with no issues. No doubt, as much as I wish I could send this truck off to paint, that is not going to happen. The truck is going to continue to be a budget build. I managed to scrape together a little cash and managed to get back to work on the truck.
I installed the two bucket seats from the 2 60/40 sets I found on craigslist and sectioned the floor mounts so the seats would sit lower. I also installed the 90's center console I bought for $10 on CL as well. I am about $135 into this set up. I am happy with how the seats feel when sitting on them. I prefer these over the originals to help the old man and his back (me). Plans call for makeing home made seat covers so the seats match and cleaning up that dirty console.
I also, did a spin on Porterbuilts firewall filler panel. I rounded off the edges and bolted it on. I did this in the event I ever want the heater unit or ac back in. I also made my own blower delete panel (black one) using a bead roller and tried to mimmick the original even though I have never seen a real one in person. I probly could have made the Porterbuilt piece but I must admit his piece looks sweet. I am glad I bought it.
Here is a video of the progress thus far.
Enjoy!

Re: huero's project "TRA-BAJO"

Your getting it done Huero. What happened to the 68 you had in the driveway? We all can relate to the money is tough right now. I almost sold my truck due to the engine issues and got frustrated. But Kabwe talked me out of it and told me like im going to tell you, hang in there.
CraigsList is my new best friend, I found my 92 TPI engine thats now in my truck. Huero you know were all here for each other. Whats next?

The list is long Vdog. Truck was removed of the drivetrain and sold to Budnick Guy. Adam, is a real cool guy to deal with and he helped me out tremendously.

I used to have a set of those seats, they are the most comfortable ever. Since this is partially a nova thread here's my Dad's drop-top '62 (it's lower now):

Re: huero's project "TRA-BAJO"

I was looking at the video you posted in the begining of this thread, I use a degreaser from the .99 cents store called Totally Awesome Auto Degreser in a black bottle. For that 90's center counsle, I use fast orange hand cleaner in the orange bottle. wipe it on and the dirt rolls up and it brings back some of the original color. Then you can paint it if it does not get as clean as you want. Just a few tricks I have used my cars.
