Re: Project "Haulin Crap" 1986 CC dually.

Deal fell thru after he sent me more pics of the doors all dinted around the locks from being pryed off. And the guy wouldn't come 5 min closer to make it easier on me to get them when I'm driving an hour and a half. So I passed. Some thin didn't seam right and that end of town is not a great place to be at night.

Re: Project "Haulin Crap" 1986 CC dually.

Well got my doors replaced and painted along with my dinged fender and picked it back up sat morning. Got my windows put in along with new window felt and motors. Man those are both a pain!! Was sick all weekend so just kinda threw it together so when it rained yesterday and today it would get the inside wet since I lack about a foot of it fitting in the garage. Planning on getting pics after its all together but at least im getting somewhere again.

I'm not a fan of the 'murdered-out' look. IMO, all black would = too much. The bright stuff helps break things up for nice contrast.

Yeah I agree!! Thats why some of the shiny stuff will stay like the grille and door handles and rims. Kinda like this. Best pic i could find of mostly the look im going for. At some point Im going two tone charcoal grey and black as well.

I only used it a couple times. It was on it when i got the truck. Didnt seem to work any worse that the regular fuel line that on there now. Still gotta fill it with the nozzle upside down. Im gonna put it back this spring. Thought maybe the rust might cause issues in the tank but since its been off the inside hasnt rusted any. So im gonna clean it up and paint the outside and put it back.

Not a whole lot going on with it. Finally got my mirrors and door handles on and all the window rubber straightened out. Oh and electrical in the doors working. Now waiting on some good weather to put a new starter on it and maybe if its really warms up spray the floorboard with lizardskin so i can get the interior started. Other than that its just looks pretty sitting there. I take her to the dump every couple of weeks for garbage sat. LOL Oh I added some LED tailgate lights. Found them in my toolbox. Were part of a trailer set i ordered like 6 years ago.

Sweet! That thing sure does look good! I have just one suggestion.. I think the tail-lights would look better with a LITE coat of tail-light tint!

Funny story there. I hate the euro ones that are in it installed by the PO so I bought a set of the original style lenses thinking ill jut swap the lenses. Well boy was I wrong. I have to have the inside portion too. So as soon as my inner portion comes in from my buddies house along with my rebuilt carb Ill be installing them both and then I think you might be right with them needing to be tinted a bit to go with the rest of the marker lights that are tinted. But well see I guess. Needs to warm up a bit some first!!

Re: Project "Haulin Crap" 1986 CC dually.

Thanks I was trying to think of something to fill both tanks from one side never though of that I was kicking the ideal of making the gas door bigger and running two filler necks and caps up in in one door but if work good like your was set up might do something that line it would be a lot less work in the long run thank
Truck looks good I really like the cab lights you have on it looks a lot better then the factory ones and I'm not a fan of the euro lights but I did buy a set with the hopes of tinting them hoping the look good tinted dark

This is home made but they actually made a kit years ago thats the same thing. I actually need to order a couple more. I broke one installing it and cracked another. they arent much on contour for the roof so be careful if you get a set. I do like them alot however!! As far as the euros the lens is just clear plastic so would tint very easily. I might try that till i get my insides just to see how it looks. No harm in messing something up im replacing anyhow. LOL

That could work for now. May have to pick up some tint and try it.

If you mix up a small amount of clear coat and add black toner to it, lightly scuff the tail lamps and spray them works great never comes off and protects from fading.

You should send me them euros? I'll tint them for my truck. I can't bring myself to tint original lenses.
