Steel rims will be white. Got a fender done tonight. Hood, cowl, will be red. Top of cab and pillars white. Soon I hope.

Haven't touched it in over a week. Will probably clean up and paint the rims week after next. Still searching c-list for tires.

Nope. Nothing done. I drive it around the pasture every few days, but no work done. This should be the month she gets legal though.

Re: Henrietta....67 K20 rustification

This thread makes me want to rattle can my 67, but she's got a little air showing through, so it won't look as good as yours. I think yours looks really good.

Also, original 67 caps won't fit on those wheels you have. I think for original 67 wheels you'd be looking at a 16 inch snapring wheel, and maybe a 17.5" wheel. On 67 wheels the bumps for the caps is on the inside of the lip thingy. I got some mid-90's Ford wheels for my 67, you can use a later dog-dish style cap. I like the style of wheels you got the best anyways.

I had my heart set on a knarley set of 235/85/16's, but 265/75/16's are easier to find around here, and that is what I got and I'm happy. The 2 sizes are roughly the same height.

Re: Henrietta....67 K20 rustification

I'm northwest of Austin.

The rattle-can job is only because I don't have the money to fix that door pillar right, and no sense in painting something that will get redone later. I'd call it temorarily permanent. I plan on fixing it right one day, but till then, I'll keep a can of red primer in the tool box for touching up brush scratches.

I kind of leaning to 285/75/16's, but 265/75/16's would work. Searching c-list for a deal. And to make matters worse, just bought a 70 F100 for my son to fix up for his first truck, so there's another hole for money to fall through.

No updates, just drive around the pasture every couple of days in it. Bought my son a 70 F100 that had been sitting since 05. We got it fired off a couple nights ago.

Re: Henrietta....67 K20 rustification

I'd have the same reason for rattle can painting my truck since I pretty much have to replace the whole floor in my truck and right now it is at least 4 different colors.

Yep. I figured one semi-decent crappy color was better than 3 or 4 crappy colors. Do you have a build thread? I'd like to see your 67.

Re: Henrietta....67 K20 rustification

No I don't have a build thread because all I do is drive mine. Lol thats not entirely true, I just got done rebuilding the engine (250 Chevy) about a month ago, but I mostly just drive it. When we got it we went through the brakes, changed fluids, cleaned up wiring etc. I got the engine done in 2 weekends and since getting it together I've driven it about 1,500 miles - its been really fun. Prior to that it burned over a quart of oil per hundred miles.

Maybe sometime soon I'll snap some pictures.

Re: Henrietta....67 K20 rustification

Got my boy's 70 F100 fired off, and it runs like a champ. Sticking brake drums, though. I just popped the clutch, and drove her out of the way. We have years to play with that one. Pulled the 67 back to the "business" part of the driveway and actually got something done this evening. Sanded a good bit of the hood, and removed the cowl, sanded and painted the cowl. Going to sand a little more and hit it with another coat. Painting in the dark, not always the best plan.

And was I ever glad to find that under cowl was this pretty....

Re: Henrietta....67 K20 rustification

Ha! I just like old trucks. the Ford was pretty straight, and it was cheap. I'm not partial. I've had IH's, Chevys, Fords, and AMC Eagles. 60's and early 70's trucks are all good to me.

Re: Henrietta....67 K20 rustification

I've had so many trucks over the years. My first was a 72 chevy, Ole Red. Lot's of memories there. That's why I got the 67, and why it's turning red. It's at the top of the list. I had a 69 Ford crew cab 3/4 ton 4x4 that was probably my favorite. It was a tank, and got 15 mpg from a 390 and granny 4-spd. The coolest I had was a 49 IH 4x4. I put it in 4lo, 1st gear and walk behind it throwing hay bales on or off. Only had to jump in to turn at the end of the row.
So, there's my top 3.

Looks like I found some good tires on c-list. Should pick them up tomorrow. Details after I get them, don't want to jinx the deal.
