Re: 71 C10 SWB Project Built
Those brake lines worked really well. Great fit. Progress is looking good.
Hopefully someone will jump in with a pic of the line to the caliper. And there are probably builds on here where that has been done. |

Re: 71 C10 SWB Project Built
I know its been awhile but with a new baby, my schedule is kinda messed up so between work and home, its been rough. I got both unions to finish up the brake lines. I had to tweek these a little bit to get them to fit nice and tight against the frame.
I got my rear end back. It looks amazing. Next on the list is the 4/6 drop and HD trailing arms from ECE...Can't wait!

Re: 71 C10 SWB Project Built
Installed the 94'-96' Impala SS disc brakes for the rear. They fit perfectly with little issues. Heres a couple of pictures...
The only problems that I ran into was the rotors. I had to drill out the stud holes to 9/16" because it was a little tight. Both completed

Re: 71 C10 SWB Project Built
The rear brake lines that I got didn't match up to my rear "T" location and wasn't long enough to shape into place so I went out and bought new brake lines and bent them the way I wanted them to fit up nicely with the Impala SS caliper and flex line.

Hehehehe......hahahaha.....HA...HA...HA...HAAAAA..... Sorry, I get weird when I get home from a long day at work and find all sorts of goodies. I'll keep you posted as I go. I got the ECE 4/6 drop with Super Trac Bar and Shock mount relocation brackets. Also the ECE HD trailing arms.

Re: 71 C10 SWB Project Built
Thanks. I have most of the rear end together now. I have to drill out the hole for the upper spring bolts. Its going together with ease. For the front spindles, I will have to find some weight to put on the front to get them on. Still in search of an engine...

Re: 71 C10 SWB Project Built
Well, its been a few days but I finally got around to getting the new parts on. Everything went together well.
ECE HD Trailing Arms and the 4/6 Drop Suspension with Shock Mount Relocation Brackets ECE 2" Drop Spindles Started to put the steering together. The center link and tire rod ends all together. Still need to get the power steering pump. Thinking of a quick ratio steering pump.

Re: 71 C10 SWB Project Built
Its been awhile fellas...the little boy has me pretty busy. I'll post pics soon. Its a rolling chassis and cab is back on. Getting ready to start on the metal work. Just waiting for the pieces to come in.
I need some opinions on this. I've been looking for a LQ4/4L80E. I came across this on craigslist. Its a warehouse in Kansas City, MO. They have a whole warehouse of different engines. Let me know what you guys think. He has a LQ4 for $2900. Brand new, with a 3 year/100,000 mile warranty. I haven't called yet but just wondering if some others out there have seen this/heard about it/bought from them. Keep me posted. http://stlouis.craigslist.org/ptd/5515660279.html

Re: 71 C10 SWB Project Built
I'll have pictures up soon. Since the last time I've been on here, I mounted the cab and bed to the frame to check for fitments. Pulled the bed back off and started on the metal work on the passenger side. New outer floor, rocker panel, lower a pillar, lower b pillar and cab corner. Unfortunately, it'll be done on both sides. I'm currently looking for a radiator support and rear wheel housings. I'm going to extend my current wheel wells to make mini tubs. I found a company (CMW Trucks) that I have never heard of before but they seem descent. Anyone out there heard or dealt with them in the past and how are their items. Thanks

Re: 71 C10 SWB Project Built
I went ahead and got a Tri-Plus radiator support from LMC and ordered the rear wheel wells from CMW Trucks. The both look good out of the box. No damage or wrinkles. We will see whenever I mount them.
