Re: crate 350 no oil pressure
Its worthwhile testing that pump. You can get a new pump that is bad. I once installed a rebuilt engine in a car for a man who owned a napa store. His own machine shop remand the engine. I just installed it for him. Guess what. No oil pressure on start up. That taught me to prime all engines regardless of who built it.

Re: crate 350 no oil pressure
yeah I was sitting there drinking a corona ticked off about the motor and decided to blow air through the galley's. I pulled the filter and blew air through there and behind the intake were the oil gauge goes and pulled the oil pump and blew air there to. put it all back together with oil first 10 seconds of hitting it with the drill oil shot up from the gauge hole all over my garage. I felt like of the Jed Clampet. so this morning I hit it again till oil started to come out of the lifters but my drill started to smoke so I called it quits till tomorrow.

But the good news is that you have oil pressure now! I think we asked this before, but are you sure your gauge works? Can you have someone watch the gauge while you drill it? I have an aftermarket capillary tube oil gauge that I pulled from a car in the junkyard years ago that works great. It has easily readable tick marks for PSI. If I am by myself, I can temporarily plumb in that gauge while I spin the primer. This is an option if you don't have someone to help. So summarize what you've done to solve this? Because it couldn't have been solved on its own...

Re: crate 350 no oil pressure
I ran the stock one and it didn't move so I ran a electric one I had on another car and that one didn't mark either. so either I had blockage or some valve had gotten tripped. or I just didn't hit it hard enough with the drill. I am using a 1/2 drill but its a harbor freight drill to LOL
