Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?

Here are a couple pictures of my baby. He is a 1976 Silverado trailering Special.
2wd 1/2 ton long bed. 454 with a automatic. This truck was special ordered by my grandmother in 76 and has never left the family. I partially restored him a few years back. Now that I have him in my full possesion full time I am going to finish him right. I have all of the origional trim on order and that will make him stock other than the rear bumper. The all white paint was a special order for the year also. Everything works perfectly from the dual battery system to the A/C.

transamman78 that is a very nice truck you have there! When you do decide on restoring "him" just make sure you take pictures of everything and make a build thread on here. Im sure everyone would love to see it including me! Oh and welcome from Texas!

Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?

Thanks. Actually the only thing I need do do is put the origional trim on and clean up the suspension. We did a frame off about 4 yeaer ago but for some reason they put the different trim on. I will posat pics of the interior and engine bay next. I am thinking about putting the centercaps of of a late 60's camaro on him just to make a little change on the wheels. I think they should fit my origional wheels.

Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?

I noticed the front fender trim had squared corners instead of rounded, and I don't remember ever seeing that before, other than that and no black or gold stripe on the trim it looks original enough to me.

Nice truck. Had me in a 30 second stare trying to think what was plain as day 'different' until my mind engaged on the mirrors being tucked inward instead of outward! Nice touch!

Definitely a 'keeper' to enjoy!.

Been wanting to post a pic of her. Traded her for another vehicle about 9 months ago. i got her with a 4inch lift, mudders all light blue hehehe. Original 101K miles with 350/350 combo.

Work done: Front rebuilt suspension all poly, brand new grill and chrome around, lowered 5/7 with springs, spindles, flip kit, shackels, c-notch and nitro slammers all the way around. Roll pan, primered grey with semi gloss black bed. New black dashpad, black dorpannels, 2-10inch pioneer chapionship series woofers, mb quarts highs and mids and 2 amp under the seat.

Work to be done soon: Foose Legend(black with polished lip) 22x10 front and 24x12 in the back, black and brown paintjob and matching interior. 383 blown, 700R, Ford 9inch rear with a massive tub. Should take me another year or so hehehe.

Thanks for the compliments!

It's an '83 21.5' Mini Daycruiser with a 460 Ford, Berkley Jet w/Evator. We just pulled the motor to reseal the jet to the hull, foundthe previous owner ported and gasket matched the heads, it has a Torker II intake, big cam, and a few other goodies. It'll do about 56mph on Lake Tahoe, not bad fpor such a big old *****!

The truck is a beast, I love that truck!

Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?

My '87 is looking a LOT better

Before

After

And I added another to the fleet

1980 K20, 292 inline six, 4 speed, 205 gear drive tcase. It needs different doors (windows and door latch mechanisms don't work worth a s***) And I have a set of 33s on white spoke wheels I'm going to put on it.

Ya I've wanted a six for a while. It smokes a little blue, but it should run forever, it's about as simple and bullet proof as one of these trucks can get
Surprisingly, it has power steering and brakes and air conditioning everything is intact, but the controls in the cab don't work. Wouldn't it be something to get that working again
