Re: My 1959 apache project

In the side shot it looks as perfect as can be without the fender being on. In the side view the door looks a LITTLE too far in but it could be the great shine you have on the paint makes it looks bigger than it is. In person I bet it's like 1/8" or less.

You're doing great work, man. I'm really impressed. I'd love to see your truck in person someday. Maybe if you come down to the Brothers show next year or if you come to a more southern show when I am going up to visit family in Auburn I could time it to attend the show and see it.

Congrats, great truck!

Wow, looks so nice. Awesome work! Me, I would be worried driving and and would never park it in a lot anywhere...hate to see the first door ding. Probably 99% of the people would have no clue how much effort and money you have in it and just throw their doors open.

It is great you work with your dad on this!

So true that non-car/truck people have no idea what it takes just to own and drive a 60 year old vehicle much less what it takes to make one look as nice as yours is now.

I'm 60 now (incredibly), my dad passed in 1990 at only age 66 after 20 years of heart attacks and strokes. He'd be 92 now if he were around. He might not have been able to help but he'd have definitely gotten a lot of joy out of watching me have a nice one like yours. His was a small window '59 Fleetside long bed I "helped" him install a 283 in to replace the 235 six, and later replaced that with a 348. It was a truly fast truck in its time and I've always wanted a TF since then. If I ever stumble upon a 348/409 at a somewhat reasonable price I'm definitely buying it for my truck.

Re: My 1959 apache project

Amazing work and I have been following you since the beginning of this build because I too have a short bed, big window, deluxe trim fleetside apache that is coming together from the ground up. I also stumbled into an econoline van build that I think you just convinced me to sell, so I can finish off my '59. The good looking craftsmanship is moving us man! Keep up the good work

Re: My 1959 apache project

truck looks fantastic !!!! great that you have your dad around to work with you --- i also lost my dad in 2000 - although he was not that mechanically inclined ; he was always there to ''help'' until he got bored ..... i just liked the fact that he was around and took a small bit of interest
can you tell me about that outside spotlight --- what is it off of --- or where did you get it ? just curious -
again ....great job on a damn good lookin truck !!!
