Colored puc looks great Don.

What did you use for the coloring??

Reminds me of those pics Nicola took of my truck.

Your headers seem a bargain and have come out well.

Had a busy weekend myself.

Building this..... http://www.volkszone.com/VZi/showthread.php?t=1072873

And scored a block and tackle for the garage too (free)

Your body work is looking mighty fine. The tail lights are really cool as do the headers.

Free is always good!
Thanx for the compliment on the pic... I use Prismacolor colored pencils… That was a quick color study, and I plan on making a few adjustments on the final one I will display in my Workshed...

Thanx Martin… The poster you sent will be framed and proudly displayed in my Tattoo Work Station... I ended up using 1 can per header...

Thanx Brother!!! Fairly pleased with the fender after shooting a coat of rattle can Primer, although there are a couple of small issues that I spotted with the primer applied... Just get to do some more sanding and break out the Dolphin Glaze Putty JMo hooked me up with. Then will be ready to shoot some primer onto the fenders… next up… Finish the inner fenders to get them in primer, then it will be time to tackle the Driver's door...
Have a Blessed Day Brother, hope you can make it up this way soon!

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...

Scored a set of doors cheap…

After looking at the amount of time I have in repairing one fender, I decided to pull the trigger on these doors. I will do some learning on my doors in the future.

These are close to being ready to put together and hang as soon as I get the cab re-mounted... just gotta address the mirror mounting holes and the custom trim holes...

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...

Thanx Guyz…

After looking at the amount of time I put into the one fender...
Which was my first attempt at a major rust repair… I decided that $125 for 2 doors would be a wise investment. The time savings alone makes the price bearable.

Plans are to get truck drivable... then hone some Metalworking and Body Skillz on the doors that were originally on the truck...

Thanx again for looking in on me… Plans for a busy upcoming Sunday and Monday...

Ready to cry in my beer !!!!!!

Those doors are a great score.

Martin bought what was probably the only one for sale in the UK for $170 and we thought he had done well.

Serious score mate.

Man you gotta deal on them doors.
I agree sometimes it is better to buy a perfect part rather than spend days or weeks trying to fix things.

I'm not sure which is harder to find, nice condition doors or a nice hood. If they are half as nice as they look, twice as much for them wouldn't have too much. Good for you!

I have some decent doors, problems but repairable. Finding a good hood that is repairable is almost impossible around here. I've been looking for two years or more.

Great deal on the doors. I am looking for one front fender for same reason not sure I can repair well enough, or spending way to much time and not be happy with it.

The front fender repair I did took extra work because being a rookie metal worker, it Oil Canned on me and required the extra work...

I felt pretty good with the door deal, and after reading some of the responses here, I am glad I pulled the trigger on that deal...
Installed the headers today…

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...

Some progress made today...
Here;s a pic of the ram horn that broke… then the ram horns and the steel down tubes that were attached to stainless…

Finally the headers installed, and yes Chad, they cleared the Trans Crossmember and the LCA...

No pics, but I removed the Hood Hinges from the Inner fenders, and worked with Sandpaper… Primer…. More Sandpaper… More Primer… More Sanding...

Rock on Guyz!!!

Love the early style finned valve covers, and those headers sure seem to fit in there well. Nothing says hot rod like a nice set of tubes.
