lesser amount of fires last yr, but almost 3 million acres went up, almost twice as many fires this yr, but only around a million acres burnt so far smoke has been the biggie this year, just blanketing everything...air quality index goes from 1-10, ten being bad...it's at anywhere from 20-40 depending on where you are.... http://google.org/crisismap/google.c...mbia-wildfires but it's not just here only...i think people need to realize global warming is'nt fiction. we never had this many fires ever when we were growing up. we used to get maybe 6-10 days of mid 80's weather in the summer (30C) now we are getting around 30 plus days of mid 80's weather, which is drying things out much more and making the forests ticking time bombs.... Calf, Wash, Ore, Greece, Siberia, Europe, BC, all on fire, our planet seems to be getting hotter, which sucks, cause there is no planet "B" if we cook this one... |

Re: post up your camping pics
Larry, Ian, my son and I with our friends Pam and John went into the mountains this last weekend and did some wheeling. Hit the Wheeler Lake trail and Mosquito Pass.
Wheeler lake is listed locally as a difficult trail, but we went for it anyway. Airing down for the ride.. Re: post up your camping pics
Excellent DSuper5! We camped right at the base of that rock formation in your first pic on our way home from our desert trip this last June. Then we drove right through Page to get home. Love the area for sure. Oh and I'd kill for a Burb like yours too.

Re: post up your camping pics
great pics Rob and 3757chevy!
son and me took our quads to mt mercer, was going to sleep in the back of the truck, but a clear cold moved in, nite time temps down to the 30's...brrr, forget that... kids got new graphics on his quad, and he just has to try them out...(they make it faster of course...) is a beautiful morning... stopped at the beaver dams for dawg. there is a row of about 8 or 9 dams. dawg loves going there and harassing the beavers.. |

Re: post up your camping pics
at our turn-off. really liking how the crew handles with the new longer fr springs and cross-over steering...
seeing how dawg could'nt find a beaver, he "attacked" this rock...can't belive the old fart still acts like this, a couple months shy of his 13th b-day... this monster mushroom was behind the truck. bigger than my out-stretched hand, around 7 or 8 inches i'd say.... |

Re: post up your camping pics
about 2/3rds of the way up mercer
that's mt cheam in the distance. me and my son climbed it the other yr... trail is starting to get real narrow. we're riding up on top of a narrow ridge. as far as we could get the quads up the trail, actually could have gone a few more feet, but there was no place big enough to park the quads... |

he still loves going out though...snout in the wind stopped at the canal on the way out, was a little mucky... this one was just over the tires |

Re: post up your camping pics
on the hunt...
he's on one, you can see his fin just to the left of dawg... and the catch...it was a fighter he caught, it squirmed out of dawg's grasp before i could snap another pic.. and that really took it out of dawg's legs. he just sat there for about 20 mins....thought i might have to wade out and retrieve him, but he eventually got up and staggered in |

Re: post up your camping pics
but even that did'nt keep old dawg down...20 mins later and he's right back out there...
no dawg...don't want a dead one... ended up spending the day down there. he was not any more successful, was having a hard time with his legs, but he still enjoyed himself |
