Agreed, I always leave on the last yellow light (Sportsman tree VS Pro tree) and usually cut a 0.09-0.05 light. Takes some practice though. If he was dead hooking, alittle more stall would help, 1.7x 60 ft would result in at least 12.8x second quarter mile.

I would spent the time and money having your Yank restalled. If you can, speak with Dave directly. Tell him the weight of your truck, cam specs, gears, etc. I would also find out where the converter is actually flashing to using the instructions I posted earlier. This way Dave has all the facts needed to make the correct adjustments on your converter. I bet that that converter is set up for 6000+ pound trucks found in late model '99+ 2500 trucks, not your square that prob weighs around 4200 pounds. 2000 pounds can make a HUGE difference where a converter will flash with everything else being EXACTLY the same. In my personal experience, Yank converters are typically tighter, which is a good thing for street driving, especially on daily drivers. Although I have only ran a Vigilante with a 4L60e, it was extremely loose on the street, actually more like the word 'Soggy'. Otherwise it was great converter for quarter mile use.

Sounds good, I hear the tires on the 1-2.
Keep us posted. I just put a deposit on a TVS 1900 blower yesterday, hopefully it'll wake up my little 5.3.

Re: my 80 build
Looks like your reaction times are improving, cutting a 0.04 light is about as good as it gets on a Sportsman tree.
Never done 1/8 mile personally, seems like too much of a tease....

had the windows tint limo on the sides and back glass, I might temporary black out all the chrome on the truck to see how it'll look ![]() ![]() ![]()

Re: my 80 build
Looks good, I'd never get away with 5% on the front windows in my city. Planning on 5% for the rear one of these days then maybe 35% or 50% for the fronts (since I have a light tan interior it won't be so bad).
At this point I am saving for a 3200 or 3600 stall converter (haven't decided) since the tall first gear of the 4L80e makes getting outta the hole alittle sluggish for my square.

Re: my 80 build
Too bad you didn't get to run the quarter mile with the drag radials before selling them.
