Karl, I do appreciate the heads up on the inner fender! I just can’t believe I didn’t see that myself! Guess that’s what happens when you have a 8 month old that was sick all weekend and not sleeping

I’m just concerned with the lift on the intake side of .635. I bought this cam a little over 3 1/2 years ago and I was admittedly not that schooled on LS motors at the time. Tick has since redesigned the cam since I got it. I’m guessing the lobe profile they used back then was a little to harsh. I’m probably going to go a little milder as I don’t want my valvetrain to sound like a sewing machine!

Re: The Family Truckster- 66 Suburban Build

Finally got the old greasy straight 6 and 3 on the tree pulled form the Burb this weekend! Now comes the fun part of cleaning up and painting the frame before stuffing the LS in. I’ll be listing the old drivetrain in the parts forum so if anybody is interested, let me know.

If I had the cash and you weren't so far away, I would relieve you of the engine, trans and the rear end.

Oh well! Not get that frame cleaned up and that LS in there!

Just looking at that frame and firewall ...I think you're gonna need a bigger piece of cardboard.

Nice work, this damn snow is killing us. You guys are getting a bit more than me tomorrow . The 12 bolt is something I might be interested in at some point but I'd need new axles since I'm 5 lug

Yeah, I'm tired of this snow already! What do you plan on doing with your factory front inner fenders? If they are in good shape and your willing to part with them, maybe we can work out a little trade.

I like what you are doing to this burb. Your family will hopefully really enjoy it for many years and the kid will have somewhere to run around when you are out and about, I know my kids sure did with mines. ( theirs lol )

I hope so too, but it's hard to consistently get out in the garage and work on it with the kids.

Re: The Family Truckster- 66 Suburban Build

Took advantage of the beautiful weather on Friday and Saturday before the rain started and got the front half of the frame cleaned up and painted. Have to clean and paint the control arms and start putting the suspension back together!

Thanks buddy, I'm happy with the way it turned out. Can't wait to get that LS in there, got my converter from Circle-D yesterday. Just waiting on my trans to get rebuilt so I can drop it all in the chassis.

Frame turned out great, Keith! All that scraping and degreasing paid off. Won't be long before you have it back down on the ground.

Thanks Vic, I got the control arms cleaned up and painted this weekend along with the airbag upper plates, cups, front shock relocators and the Captain Fab PS conversion bracket. Control Arms have also been rebuilt with new cross shafts and ball joints!

Thanks Mike, now comes the fun part of laying on my back and drilling the holes for the upper bag plates into the front crossmember. Probably should have just removed the front crossmember and flipped it over to drill the holes but that would have been to easy right

Got the front suspension back together today and the bags installed! Don’t mind my air lines, they are only temporary until I figure out how I want to run them
