Re: Anybody know Greenmonster??

The auction is over, how come we can't see the bidders' IDs?? How can they be warned with no contact info?

Ebay bites!

Yeah, I was curious myself. Apparently, bidders names are only displayed after and auction is over and a winner is declared. No winner has been declared, so no names displayed. Therefore we cannot warn. Ebay will not take care of it. This guy is pretty good. The reserve and he canceled bids so no one would win. Now he's attempting to sell outside of ebay which ebay can't really be liable for.

I have the email header info too, if that is any assistance in tracking him down.

This is all obviously a scam! I'll tell you why. No self respecting person, especially a male that owns a sweet @ss blazer such as GreenMonster's would EVER refer to it as a "car". That thing is a truck, blazer, Beast, K5, etc...I can understand referring to it as "her" or "my baby" but to say "car". Give me a break! This guy is a piece of work and he/she deserves ALOT more than is actually coming to him. Unfortunately, he will likely get a slap on the wrist at MOST. Probably nothing will happen at all the way EBay is handling it. Definitely makes me think twice about ever bidding on something again!

I think my insurance company or registration refers to this vehicle as a Station Wagon (SW). It's a "car". You're right, this is a machine I am proud of. This has been an insteresting experience to say the least. I think I became to emotionally involved... but I just could not sit there and let some guy rip someone off to make $6K by re-posting photos of my truck on the Internet.

Re: Anybody know Greenmonster??

It is likely that I have recieved my final message from ebay regarding this auction. Ebay writes:

Thank you for writing eBay in regard to your report for item #110105738425.
Aren't you the guy that was complaining about the price of CST panels then
bought them anyway?

We are concerned about violations on the site and have thoroughly
investigated your report. Please be assured that we have taken
appropriate action in accordance with our site policies. Such action may
include issuing a warning, a temporary suspension, an indefinite
suspension or terminating the membership.

Because privacy concerns are important to everyone we are not at liberty

information regarding the reasons for any action we may take against
another account and the duration of a suspension. We hope that you
understand our position in this situation. We also hope that it assures
you that your personal account history will always remain private.

Thank you for your time.

Re: Anybody know Greenmonster??

I got an email from the guy trying to sell the Blazer, same email that everyone else received. He said he would sell it for $6000. Wow, just emagine if 5 people offer $6,000 dollars. $30,000 dollars for this guy. I made an offer for my own truck. Did any one else? I'll keep you posted.

I'm perrty sure my registration says that too...the term SUV was not yet discovered when the MIGHTY K5 hit the market
Not that I think a K5 or Jimmy is in the same catagory as an SUV just a thought I came up with to explaine the "Station Wagon" title...

Re: Anybody know Greenmonster??

The fraudulent seller was sent a link to this web page. Therefore I could not share specific details about "deal" that the seller and I were setting up. The seller contacted me with the same bogus email that was sent to anyone that had sent a question during the auction. He did not respond to anyone while the auction was active. Our exchange of emails went as such:

RaymondTanguay@aol.com:
Hi,
First of all,i must apologize for my reticence with selling my car.I love this car and it means a lot to me.I am forced by a bank loan to sell it.The loan does not involved her ,but i need the money and i must do that. The car is like new ,in perfect condition, no marks or need for additional repairs what so ever. The real miles onboard, a great car ready to be yours. Thank you and i will wait for your email.

Myself:
Will you take $5500 for the Blazer shipping included? If this works for you, please explain how the process works from here.

-John

RaymondTanguay@aol.com:
Hi,
Thank you for a prompt answer.I can see that you are a decided and serious person.Ok, i will try to explain it to you.If you want to buy a car trough ebay program, you must forward me your full name and address and i will contact ebay to let them know about our deal,or i will let you know my details and you can contact them. They will examine the transaction and they will contact us if everything is fine. You will deposit the money to them, and i will ship the car to you.You will have 1 week for inspection and if you find everything ok,i will come to do the paperwork. After we complete the deal, you will contact ebay in order to release the funds to me.
If something is not ok with the car,the deposit is 100% refundable so you will receive your money back.
Thank you.PS:we have a deal for 5500

Myself:
I prefer that you send me you details and I will contact ebay. I can't wait to see the Blazer. It looks great. Sorry you have to let it go. I'll take good care of it. Thank you for helping make this a smooth transaction.

-John

What a shyster! This guy has a feedback of zero and he knows sooo much about selling a car on ebay? Yeah right. That was the last email exchange we had which took place on Tuesday, 27MAR07.

Re: Anybody know Greenmonster??

Meanwhile, ebay replied to my emotionally charged message to them. This reply was sent by ebay on Thursday, 29MAR07.

Thank you for writing eBay in regard to the listing for item
110105738425. I apologize for the insufficient response which you
received, and will do all I can to more accurately address your
concerns.

Please be aware that the item you reported was ended early by eBay and
all bids were cancelled. Unfortunately, we were not aware of this
activity until after the listing appeared. Once we became aware of this
activity, we immediately took the appropriate action per our site
policies.

The seller has been suspended indefinitely because we could not confirm
their contact information and/or their ability to deliver the
merchandise advertised on our site. At this time, we have no definitive
information regarding the seller or the items that were listed for sale.
Once a membership is cancelled or suspended, the user is unable to bid,
sell, or exchange feedback on the eBay site.

To report this kind of activity in the future, you may use the new
"Report this item" link at the bottom of every eBay listing, under
?Other options?.

Thank you for being a valuable member of the eBay community.

Sincerely,

Darell
eBay Motors Customer Support

I feel better about this message from ebay than any others that I have recieved, however the email is not entirely true. Ebay did not end the auction early, I watched the auction go to the very end on Sunday afternoon.

It took ebay several days after the listing was over to remove it from their site. This guy was setting up this transaction outside of ebay with several people. I can really see now why an ebay transaction with one winning bidder is so important. Ebay cannot protect you from a transaction outside of ebay that this guy was trying to set up.

I even received a message on my cardomain page from someone that thought they were buying Green Monster.

Are you selling this truck on e-bay? I am getting ready to buy it from a Raymond Tanguay, and want to make sure it is legit. I really appreciate a response. The blazer looks awesome: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...me=STRK%3AMEWA

Re: Anybody know Greenmonster??

That happened to me on an item I had won and was about to pay for then it went dead. I had bid and won a catalytic converter the seller wanted 3% charge for paypal. It was against the rules so they killed it. Had I paid when I first won I would have been able to pay before they got to it.

Re: Anybody know Greenmonster??

I think this is over... No one really knows who the guy is. Lenexa is just a town that was picked for the listing Raymond was just a name that was picked. Green Monster was just the car of choice that day. The listing was removed but the seller probably got what he wanted: People to bite sending money for a deal that was too good to be true. I'm curious how much money this guy made.
