Re: Jessica, my 86 lwb

ok guys heres some much awaited updates. sorry for how long it took me.

first off i tackled my "sunburn" paint job cuz i havent had the patience for wiring lol. i had some serious peel action on the roof cap and through the primer on the hood. being that im working with some seriously limited resources right now i sanded with a mouse sander and then block sanded the rest lol. took forever but it really payed off. when i started taking the primer off the hood (i bought the truck with the hood already primered) i found more issues. who ever sanded to prime the hood before me did a really random job of sanding. some sections were sanded down just through the clear to the paint and some were down all the way to bare metal and then just straight rattle canned over. but now shes got fresh rattle can primer on the roof cap and hood taking care of the "sunburn" peel. it will have to work till i start takin on all the rest of the body work.

Re: Jessica, my 86 lwb

i also got my crossmember back from my buddy who was custom fabbing it up for me (as that i cant weld, yet) due to my choice of long tube headers i had a clearance issue with the transmission crossmember. so we cut the factory crossmember just to the right of the center mount and fabbed out a a new side with some plate steal. unfortuantly when i put it back in the truck i realized that we didnt drop the drivers side and so now i have a clearance issue there. lol but thankfull the drivers side allows the pipe to pass through it just keeps the pipe right on the crossmember which will def make for an awesome rattle. so im gonna remedy that situation by just puttin that pipe in a vise and givin it a good 1/8 inch oval to take care of that. being that its so minor im not worried about putting that kinda oval in it because i dont think i will loose enough back pressure to even make a difference. and also i didnt take a picture of it before i re-installed it and i know how much you guys LOVE pictures so i got a couple snap shots of it on the truck sorry for the lighting but i realized my picture fo-pa after i got it in and i just couldnt bring myself to take it back out for a picture.

Re: Jessica, my 86 lwb

awh you guys know i still love y'all! buisness is finally pickin back up in the truckin industry (thank the lord) so i been pretty busy with work. i will post up some pics of the wiring ive been tinkering with lately. nothing too spectacular but being that im not very awesome at all with wiring jazz it was a HUGE accomplishment for me. the truck is currently in quite a few peices right now. in fact the dash pad is in my bedroom and the gauge cluster is on my dinning room table so i can work in better light currently my whole house is the garage lol
and yes there will be plenty of pictures to accompany the update on the wiring lol, i think y'all love pictures almost as much as i do!

sweet! even though "freight-shaker" isnt my forte' id love to see the build up on it. being a 500 cat im guessin that probly makes it a c15 twin turbo. id recommend the zepher pro-40 on the tanks unless your gonna go with a rouge bar and then id recommend the zepher green bar. -personal preffernce but ive always had great results with their products. the straight stacks with rain caps brings a really cool old school feel that gets off set by the 8 inchers good lord boy you must have money cuz i know the last time i quoted a 7" monster stack i about stroked out over the cost much less my customer congrats on the truck though!
and have no fear the dash will be outta the bedroom and back in the truck soon enough.
