A little update. Got the seats fitted, stereo installed, Bling column and wheel.

Thanks! I need to update again. I have been working on tail lights, trim, carpet, and all of the other little gizmos that try my patience. OH, I did get my drive shafts built and installed. I ripped out the stiff door seals, and ordered some from softseal. Hopefully the new seals will be ALOT more forgiving. I am aquiring a large pile of junk, that I spent good money on... 2 years ago.

Coming along nicely on the little things that take a bunch of time. So, what was the deal with the door seals? just too tight when you closed the doors? Where did you get them so I can avoid buying the same ones? keep the pics coming.

I believe that I got them from Brothers, in a cab seal kit. They were extremely stiff. I tried the hole drilling trick, and it did not work. I got the doors to close and left them for 5 days, they were still almost impossible to close. I have heard good things about the softseal.com seals, I guess I'll see.

They are 2011 Honda Odyssey second row leather seats. They are a clip in style, and making the adapters was a challenge. They slide, tilt foreward and back, and best of all remove with the pull of a strap. If you dont want to deal with the headache of making mounts, thechromeguy.com sells them ready to mount in 67-72 trucks. Possibly other trucks too. I bought them on e-bay for around $400. Probably have 20 hours in the mounts, and $40-50 in steel.

As you can see the center seat sits flat with the others in the pic, and that is how chromeguys sit. I had to raise it a bit, because I modified my floor to clear the t-case.

Got the carpet in! the modified floor made it a little tougher than I expected.
The heat did'nt nake it any easier either. 105F with a house sized swamp cooler blowing into the portable garage. supposed to be 116F today, better get busy...

The interior is almost complete! still have to do the glovebox door, and finish some wiring.
Softseals were well worth the money. I am able to close the door with just a little force. I must have done a decent job of sealing the cab up, because my ears pop when closing the doors.
Had to extend the arm that the trans linkage hooks to. The arm that came with it made the indicator show N when all the way in L1. It is still off a little in the middle, but shows P when in P, and L1 when in L1.
For the first time, I ran the engine, and A/C with everything sealed up. I can barely hear the motor, and the A/C seems more than cool enough. The stereo is also crisp with more than enough bass. Judging from my neighbours reaction ( two houses over), it is loud enough for a truck.

Still need to do something with the brakes, pull the rear end and finish weld the perches, do something with the rear bumper, hook up the off road lights that fit in the front bumper, get tires, tidy up the wires, put a wrench on every nut and bolt, and I think I'm done!

I will post some more pics when I can pull it out of the tent, I'ts hard to get good shots in there.

Today was not a good day! I went out this morning to pull the truck out, take some pics, and clean up a bit. I started the truck and let it run on high idle, then I tapped the gas to kick it down. There was a pop when I did it, followed by alot of black smoke, then flames coming from every gap in the hood. Luckily I had a hose running in the planter just feet away. This motor never backfired before, so after the fire was out I did a little investigating. There was a small crack in the fuel line right at the carb connection that was spraying on the intake and exhauts manifolds. This was a new line, when I put the motor in last year. I guess it was not rated for our ethanol laced fuel.

I have built several hot rods, and a few classics in the past, and never had anything like this happen. I got lucky that I was wattering the bushes, or it would have been really bad. Dont be dumb like me! Always have an extinguisher within reach when working on any vehicle.

Wow, missed the post on the fire! Has everything else checked out okay (no burnt wires, etc) Just goes to show why so many people recommend hard lines everywhere possible....

We have them on some of the sand toys, and have never had a failure. Alot of the trophy trucks have gone to them because they are so tough. Downside is they are a little pricey.

My gas line is now steel from the pump to the carb, never again will I have a pressurized rubber fuel line. Burnt some wires, dist cap, spark plug wires, a k&n air filter, and bubbled the chrome on the air cleaner. After hours of cleaning, the underside of the hood is permanently one shade darker. EVERYTHING is covered in greasy soot. I got lucky!

I also have the Tantrum lights on my camper. They are about 1 1/2 diameter, and 8 of them will light up a 50-60 yd area. I plan on installing another set under the truck when I get it done. It's kind of an extra bonus, you can set them to dance to the music.

Sorry to hear about the fire. You got me thinking about flexible rubber lines for sure. Ethynol sucks. Glad that you were watering close by. I have an extinguisher in my shop. Hope I never need to use it.

Thanks for the pics! Shows they are not only whiter but brighter too!!!

And Silverstars are pretty white and bright for a halogen bulb! I had some in my wife's odyssey...the only complaint is they don't last as long (around a year from my experience)

This is the first time I bought silverstars. They are brighter than the standard halogens, but for the price I am on the fence.

The LED's are not legal for the road, but if I am in BFE with no one around... Just sayin!

Thanks! This is not one of my better paint jobs (20 footer). It looks good for what it is. It's a 4x4 that will be driven in the dirt and bushes alot. Some of the street rods I have done freaked me out everytime someone touched them. I did not want to be afraid to enjoy this one!

Wow, just read through your entire build. I almost went the direction you did, but I found a good used 4x4 chassis that I went with. I still have most of the parts that I was going to use during the conversion. What gear ratio did the blazer have? My differentials came from a 91 4x4 burb that I was using for a donor truck, they had 3:42 and it seems with my 35's they will be way too high(guess i'll change them later). Nice job btw, really impressed with the amount of work you have done in 2 years, I started mine about the same time as you.
