Good luck with the sale. If I were you, I'd finish it and make it your hauler. You'll be hard to beat it.

Re: bought another crew today

what do you guys think about adding a set of 22.5s instead of 16s?

Nahh, the 16s look sweet! Stick with those or go to 19.5 steel wheels painted white.

Re: bought another crew today

Big ole ugly wheels just kill the look of these trucks, well any truck really but especially the pre 90s trucks. 16" tires are cheaper anyway, just get the truck up and running with the 16s first and if you still think its a good idea then play with the wheels later.

Re: bought another crew today

I would put on the 16" alcoa wheels. They give it that big rig look, but without looking like the unibomber hauler. If you completed the swap, how much?

Re: bought another crew today

Okay guys needs some help deciding. Should I do a built turbo 400 or get a nv4500? Looking into it I think it's Guna cost about the same either way? And I know the 5speeds hold up better? What do you guys think would be better for resell value?

Re: bought another crew today

You can spend money and get them to last, but the no overdrive and no lock up really sucks. My brother killed 3 of these in his. It even had allison torque convertors in it. They would always sound like a slushy when the trans went. For the money it'd take to beef one up enough to live, you can buy a good NV4500.

Re: bought another crew today

still waiting for the man to bring me my rear end (hes so slow but does great work) and im changing it from a 4in lift to a 8in lift keeping the 16in alcoas and running some 38s that i found that are perfect for dually wheels.
