Re: Longggggg Road trip tips. What is the farthest you’ve gone?

Hot Rod Power Tour 2019 Long Haul was 2305 miles for me door to door in my squarebody, tried planning for most reasonable roadside repairs with a few extra parts on hand, took a ton of tools, jack, jack stands etc... figured that I was in good company with 10,000 or so car guys around, so didn't take anything big. Only issues I had were a draggy heat soaked starter in Charlotte, then in Indiana where I had a right turn signal bulb blow, and the next day had a squealing power steering belt. Added a 1/2 quart of oil in Sandusky for the return trip to NC.

I was super pleased considering I had the trans out putting a new lock up converter in it, along with a shift kit, had the rear diff apart putting in 3:42 gears and a posi, doing the rear brakes and swapped the truck over to EFI within the last 30-40 days before the PT started. My truck was plan B after my buddy's 40 ford ate a rod bearing , so the scramble was on to get my truck sorted.

Bonus was getting a pretty nice pic of my truck in Hot Rod Mag
