Ha.
Your truck is one of the best looking trucks, running these wheels!
(and the first to make them work with the HD rotors)

Maybe all members running these infamous Boss 338 wheels should add their truck picture here.
(Please include wheel size and tire size)

Technically it was first in this thread,... I don't know which rotors he had.
It took forever to figure out the 1" light duty rotors were a bolt on.

I still have the wheels,... but I sold the truck they were going on.
I may use them on my '86.

Re: Got some new wheels: Boss 338's in 20x10 and 20x8.5

Just got done doing this for the front, for the 3AA Rims.

I have to say, this was one of the most painless modifications to date.
I simple took a flap wheel, held it up against the rotor, and spun.

I need to go update my build thread now :P

Great info.
I have a buddy that just did the same thing.
He also had to slighty dent the dust cap,... other than that they will bolt right on the HD rotors.

I haven't tried sticking the dust caps on yet, maybe I should :P I don't imagine it will be too bad, since the Eagle adjustments were only for the dust boot

Z10 - You should pull a front wheel and try to bolt one up can see if the center cap clears.

Unfortunately I have 2 "toys" that take all of my cash. My Jeep has been winning for years, now it is time for the sub to take charge Just have to save up for the rest. If I did not order them, I would have spent the $ on something else so this kick starts the project ha ha.

Krawler00 I like the way you think. I'm ordering a set today myself. Need to prep the front rotors.

Here is a pic of mine 85 with brand new 20 x 8.5 w/ 245/45R20 Hankooks all around. The new boss 338's have no problem fitting on the front. They fixed the problem!

Do you have the 1" or 1.25" rotors on the front? Stock or aftermarket rotors? What's the revision number at the end of the part number (-2AA, -3AA, etc.)? I seriously doubt they fixed the problem.

So, I wonder if this is consistent across the board?

If there's one thing that's consistent throughout the 1200+ posts in this thread, it's that these wheels need work to fit on the front when using HD (1.25") stock rotors as well as some aftermarket versions. They will bolt up to light duty (1.0") stock rotors and some aftermarket versions. Bottom line is that if you buy these wheels, you should do so expecting to have to do some work to make them fit unless you know for sure you have LD rotors.

Re: Got some new wheels: Boss 338's in 20x10 and 20x8.5

Sorry about not posting what rotor size i have. I totally spaced on it. I actually have the 1 inch rotors but I was told by the discount tire salesman who is my good friend that he has sold a couple pairs to c10 owners in the past and they had the same problem but recently he spoke with the local Boss distributer and was told they fixed the issue. They fit on my front and back like a glove! No problems or issues with fitment. I cant say that for guys with the 1.25 inch rotors.

ALso the 245/45R20 are approximately 28.7 inches tall and 9.6 inches wide.
