Re: my 80 build

yes 3.73s, but now I'm going to be running a looser stall convertor, caltracs, and slicks, maybe some drag shocks too, but the 150 shot, could bring it to the 6.9 range what Ive been told but a mid 7 will be fine

Re: my 80 build

How do you like the cam from Texas speed shop? Is it a fairly street friendly cam, & what rpm does it idle at ?

Thanks Stephen

Sweet build! This is going way back...but how do you like those dolphin gauges? How hard was it to make that bezel for them...and what did you make it out of? Thanks!

Nice build Aaron. I've enjoyed the last 42 pages. A lot of good inspiration and motivation in this build.

They should just be 7.400". Typically the only time anyone needs custom pushrods is either because the cam has a smaller base circle OR more commonly because the heads have been milled for more compression.

Re: my 80 build

Ok cool thanks, So if my Heads were milled just enough to make sure they are true and flat, would I take that measurement off of the pushrod length?

Nah, that much isn't anything the lifters can't handle.

The gauges are ok but I like to change them to the new Dakota digital setup one of these days, I'm using the factory bezel with sheet metal covering it.

I was having a lot of fun in truck till I went to jail for street racing last weekend and I lost my job the week before, but for now the truck will be parked for a wile till I get a new job and all the court fees and lawyer is taken care of, then Ill get to have fun in it again, well at the track of course

yes I'm using 7.4s but in doubt you could get a push rod checker

I sold the nitrous kit to pay off some bills that I never got to use

Aaron . . . Buddy . . . What a downer. Didn't you watch those safety films in drivers ed about street racing? I know, me either!

Sorry to hear about the set backs with the job and legal issues! But look on the bright side; at least they didn't confiscate the truck! You're a nice guy and I hope that another job comes along very quickly!

Re: my 80 build

What is this "drivers ed" in which you speak of?! The way people drive now days I figured they just abolished the program altogether and just put licenses in those little quarter gumball machines! +1 on finding a job man. That really sucks, job then jail. When it rains it pours, eh?!

Re: my 80 build

I bought another used trans forit put in and shortly after that the fuel pump went out from a kinked fuel hoses and low fuel, and I been running it at the track at least 5 times since then, I got some Hoosier drag radials hooks well now, I just got a tbss intake and ported 90mm throttle body, I'm going to fix my exhaust I'm running 3" collectors 2 1/2 pipe and 3" muffler I going for 3", also still going to do a tune

I saw your truck at Cars and Coffee on Saturday. I stopped by a couple of times but no one was around. Your truck looks good!
