I am sure you can grind the small amount needed off with no issues. That's what everyone else has to do to get the rotors to fit properly...just do a little at a time and test fit until it fits correctly.

After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Has anyone put any 18x9.5 on the rear of a 67-70 step. Im bout to take the plunge and i know i will prob need a 1-1/14 spacer depending on tire. If so what tire size did you go with .

Yes, and you don't need a spacer for the 18s. I have them on my 69 stepper. If you use 1.25" spacer, the outer edge our your tire will get shredded by your fender! If anything, maybe a .25" just to center up the wheel in the fender from side to side so they don't sit in too far, and that's only if you're really picky (like me). I actually used a .5" spacer and totally cut out the fender lip, but I'm going for a little different look, and what I did was not necessary to make the wheels fit.

FYI, you can subscribe to a thread using the "Thread Tools" menu at the top of every page; you don't need to post just to subscribe. No harm done -- just mentioning it since a lot of people don't know this.

And they're made in China, not in the USA like the Boss wheels.

That's what I ordered at first then realized they were a little taller than I wanted so I decided to go with 295 40 20... Now they are on backorder for 3 weeks

Re: Got some new wheels: Boss 338's in 20x10 and 20x8.5

Does the latest 18x9.5 have a 94.62 hub bore ? i hope so i had my stock axles redrilled today to 5x5 and tried some vett ralleys on but they would not go over my hub. from what i can find on the net the 5x5 338's are a 94.62 bore which will is about 3.725" and my axles are around 3.5 roughly using a tape. Just want someone to confirm before i have to put my axles in the lathe.

Usually the center hub of the 6-lug axles needs to be turned down to the 5x5 dimension to allow the 71-72 style brake drum to fit.
Some after market rear disc brake kits require the axle to be turned down even more.
I would match the axle's center hub dimension, to the brake drum or disc brake hat,... which ever you are using.

Re: Got some new wheels: Boss 338's in 20x10 and 20x8.5

I am using stock drums that have been redrilled. I need to know if the wheel bore is big enough .94.62mm = 3.725" is what i read somewhere but the boss site dosen't list bore. if what i read is true it should work with no lathe work. I just don't want to do it if not needed

Re: Got some new wheels: Boss 338's in 20x10 and 20x8.5

I'm thinking of replacing my old rims and I like the BOSS 338'S. I've got the 1.25" rotors and planning a 5" static drop front and back. Any thoughts on 18" vs. 20" rims? Wondering if BOSS made any changes to this model wheel in as far as the center caps not having a flush fit due to the rotor hat length?

Re: Got some new wheels: Boss 338's in 20x10 and 20x8.5

I recently bought a set of these and the hub had to be clearanced only a little on the nose for the wheel to slide onto the rotor. I did it with a belt sander while still on the truck. It took all of five minutes per side and I had ZERO issues with the cap. IMHO they are the best bang for your buck when it comes to wheels....

Agreed.

Same thing here. But I used a grinder while the rotors were (also) still on the truck. 4-6 ECE stat. drop with shocks,
shock re-locators, etc. 20" X 8.5" up front, 20" x 10" in rear. I used 1" spacers in the rear for bed clearance and to balance up the track a little.

The rear wheels (10's) I have are probably earlier B/S at something like 3.24" or something like that...But I haven't heard anything definitive about
the wheels being deeper after they came out with the bigger inch back-spacing.

I would have liked the rear to have a wider (deeper) rim...But I'm happy.

86 Chevy SWB with 18 X8.5 up front and 20 X 10s in the back. Using a wheel adapter to offset the rear to fit the fenders and a thin 1/4" spacer on the front hub with a longer wheel stud in the hubs. 1.25" brakes with the hub center smoothed for fitment.
