Not my favorite. Am I that old?
I think that would force a wheel change. Including steering wheel.

Re: Amazon driver

Still not sure what direction we will head on the seats. Ruling out cheap e-bay seats. We did get some work done on it, this weekend.
I finished the shoes on the LH side. Fixed the LR window so it rolls up and down now. Tore open a parts door to see how it worked.
Junior and I worked on the floor for a very long time. Still not done.
Installed the dash cap. Better but far from great. Ah well it'll get us through spring and summer while we tackle other issues.

Making many small changes, I hope will add up and make a difference.
Since School is almost out I can't even think about paint. That would blow any chance of driving it again his senior year. College being right around the corner. (yikes) he probably wont have time for it. I can paint it then.
For now I go against my long term rule of wheels last.

On the fence as to what looks worse, primer spots or rust spots? Not wanting a rat rod. It may fit in with them for a bit.

Re: Amazon driver

What are you doing to the floor? Can't wait to see it with those wheels!

As for seats. You're not too old, you just have the sense of what's actually cool vs the high school boy-racer/wannabe-drifter perspective (not that your son has that )

Keep it classy/classic and sporty:

With head-rest:

You can get them in different colors too.

I like those too. Nice retro-feel with good bolsters. Definitely get the headrests though, especially for your son. I cringe a little when I see stuff built with low backs.

Thanks! Is much better, really cleaned up the look inside. I also got new pedal pads, shift boot and more to come. I'm the odd man out on those seats. My wife and my boy are on the fence re: that design.
I guess I'm old enough to remember the Ed Roth and Barris customs of the sixties and those seats remind me of that.

I thought the rubber matt would lift out. Nope stuck like glue to the floor in spots. Having to use a scrapper to remove. Very little rust so far. One hole smaller than a pencil. Going to wire wheel the surface rust and paint those areas. Then peel and seal. (its a noisy little bugger) then try my hand at laying carpet. Want to cut it out to fit the floor then have edges bound. Have heard carpet store will do that cheaper than upholstery shops. And that keeps it simple and blends well with the "euro car" feel. IMO.
Wheels are on there way! Have our size at work (take-offs) waiting to see if they are available. Can't wait too long, I want to see them on also.

He already has a Dragon Ball Z shift knob on it. And he is making noise about a Hoonigen (sp?) sticker. My wife keeps telling me to let him make decisions on the car, so hard......... I hate stickers, unless they are vintage.
We will see how that works out.

Those are nice seats, not sure they would fit in such a small car?
Have to measure.

Yep safety is a big topic at our house. One of the reasons my wife loves her Volvo's. That and having been in an accident with a Metro Bus. Head rest and replacing the steering column with a later break away one.
Also need to do something about the seat belts. Probably get some ratcheting aftermarket belts, and add lap belts in back.
The factory belts have a crazy latch and hook to the loop on the floor.
I'll find a picture. Love to use those latches somehow?

Re: Amazon driver

Not sure I'm feeling it? I got some 55-57 Chevy truck lamps but I think they are too big. They are not centered just right but you get the idea.

I can't stand the stock lamps but I think I'm out voted at home.
Unless I can come up with other ideas? Suggestions?

I love those wheels! I have the Torq Thrust version on my 62 Unibody. Im gonna paint the spokes eventually ... the black looks pretty good on these. My truck is a long ways from final paint and I was running around on crappy wheels. You'll be happy you got the wheels now instead of waiting till the end.

Im going through your thread backwards so not sure if its been addressed ... Steering wheel?

Thanks! Still not sure about the size. Junior didn't seem to mind. Jury is still out.

Unibody? I think we need to see more of that. Been awhile.

Steering wheel will stay stock. I have a few wheels to practice on first. Then we will restore it.

Wheels? Somebody say wheels?
Got them home with tires mounted and had them on before anyone got home.
Parked it out front so he saw it when he got back. (was at a school debate trip @ Stanford U) He had a rough day, when he saw me he said seeing those wheels made his weekend. His step brothers baby passed away during childbirth this morning. So sad. Am glad I went to the effort of getting the wheels done for a surprise. We won't get to go to the local Swedish car show
this weekend due to him heading to Portland where his Mom lives. Family first! Even though its family on his Mom's side (her husbands oldest boy) I sure feel for them.

Anyway back to cars..............

Thanks guys! I'll add a video of today when its done "pending" Not a fan of my new fangdangled cell phone. So the brakes fixed the noise! Nice to have something go right. Good Volvo (white) Bad Volvo (black) have to see the other thread.

Love the sound of the little Volvo tractor motor.
Hope the video turns out.

Got a front end deal going that the guy already welded the fenders to the nose piece. It'll be perfect to add the truck lights.
Same guy who I met at the local (and last?) XXX Root Beer stand.
He has a Volvo 144 with a B20 engine and had a similar issue with hot soak poor starting. He added a heat shield and said it completely fixed it. So Saturday I made one and will install it as soon as I get one more gasket.

Played with the lil' Volvo this weekend. Installed heat shield and cleaned some. Took a few pics for his HS yearbook. Also made a pattern for carpet. Tested our idea on some left over house carpet. Looks promising.

Re: Amazon driver

Made a trip down to Vancouver to get a spare front clip. Looks completely rust free but has a bondo job over the body seems. Now I am torn as to redo the seem and add the truck turn signals or restore the rust free stuff and mod the rusty stuff?

Heck of a nice kid who suggested we go talk to his dad, who has an Amazon coupe. Just got a bunch of parts. So why not? Really glad I did!
Ended up with a headliner, package tray, weather strips, reflectors polished door sill plates a dome light lens all for $210.00. Buffing the sill plates would have cost that.

Then ordered rear bumper guards radio delete plate more w/strips!
