Re: More on EVs from a guy trying to sell them
This is a most interesting thread to read thru. I also use the older out dated but still working gas cans and a funnel as needed. Have four 2 1/2 gal, one gal and half and a one gal, all are Gott mfg. See no reason to replace older but PROVEN technology.
It is just so sad that EVs are being pushed as the "climate savior" with out the back story being told of the mining of such material and with ICE equipment, the lack of adequate national electric grid, battery replacement costs and disposal of such, etc. etc. etc. Very little is EVER mentioned on these issues and more. If we are ALL to one day be driving an EV I have yet to see in the news that GM is currently building EV Suburbans for federal use and the replacement of all those nasty ICE Burbs used by the Washington elites. Guess had best check if DeanheadNM aka Dale has room in his corner for another, LOL. ![]()

Again. I have zero sympathy for Mary and the rest of the idiots running GM and Ford, even Stalantis for that matter, dodge stepped in it big time killing off the best selling in its class Challenger and even the charger… no body is gonna buy there EV pony car just like no one is going to buy an EV reimagined Camaro. I’m happy to see that my beliefs are clearly inline with a lot of the general public in that EV’s aren’t the save all to humanity that the White House and the big 3 (among others) are trying to push them to be.

The U.S. government spent $49.5 billion to bail out GM, and after the company’s bankruptcy in 2009, the government’s investment was converted to a 61 percent equity stake in the company. The Treasury gradually sold off its stock in GM, selling its last shares in December 2013.

Re: More on EVs from a guy trying to sell them
More useless two cents; Canadian; I'll take my rumbling gasoline v8 thank you very much. (F that 2035 no new ICE vehicles regulation they forced upon us). Heck, I won't even own a v6 because not enough rumble.
If forced to change, I'd willing go hybrid vehicle, but never full ev. I'm a guy who puts down the miles, I don't stop except to fuel up and take a fast bathroom stop. I know I would never tolerate having to wait for a vehicle to charge up. Theres time to smell the roses when I get to my destination. |

Re: More on EVs from a guy trying to sell them
Good to know. I didn’t realize that either.
Somehow they are still going head first into EV’s seemingly counter to financial reasons. I have my suspicions why, but it would definitely get political….

Re: More on EVs from a guy trying to sell them
Everyone forgets that once the dealers only sell electric, the public will buy. Disposable cars need to be replaced eventually and they will buy what they can get.

I don’t think anyone forgot this. This is the exact problem everyone has with the mandates.

I hope EVs remain an option, and not a mandate. It will be interesting to see what happens to manufacturers who actually go "all in".

Re: More on EVs from a guy trying to sell them
It’s already law in California Mike. People keep suggesting that it’s not. It already passed. It just doesn’t go into effect until 2026.
I agree there is growing public dissatisfaction, but that doesn’t mean the state will retract the law. And with respect to being able to buy used ICE vehicles, guess what it will do to used car values for all of YOU? Supply and demand…

I have not been following this thread, but here is a link to a Motor Trend article I just received that may be of interest and add some fuel to the fire. Sorry if someone already posted this.

This Motor Trend article may have already been posted. IDK. These are some of the cars being discontinued after 23/24.
https://www.msn.com/en-us/autos/news...age=AA1ebvTE|9 The last Challenger has already rolled off the assembly line.

Re: More on EVs from a guy trying to sell them
The road test by Hoovie was real world use and it couldn't make the short trip and back.
My feeling about ev is they are little more than a novelty at this point for most buyers. They aren't ready for the masses or the same use as ice vehicles.
